Thanks all. Hoddle, I\'ll post pics soon. Smalljay, I asked Alter about Biafine. He didn\'t know anything about it. I checked it out on the web, and it looks like a great product. Once the hole closes, I may ask some other professionals about maximizing the skin health, including a derm. But for now, I think I\'m very close to getting the hole closed under the current treatment. Alter did say that once closed, I should wear gauze covering for another month or two, to protect the new skin.

First pic is 2 days ago. 2nd is today. How do you think I\'m healing? Changes every day. I think there\'s a seal. I\'m trying to find out how to cover with gauze? Pack or cover? Also, how doze the outer skin form? Does is just grow from the bottom up, via the wound, or does the skin edges come together?

It is really good to see your wound closed Braveheart. I think it is much better now. Take care!

Can\'t answer the question about the outer skin, as I don\'t know. But you healing is going great from what I can see. Personally I\'d have used and would still recommend some silicone gel sheets (not on the hole area), so the redness fades quicker. The color in the scar is making them look wider. Once they fade, I doubt they will be noticeable.

Hey Braveheart, you look 100% better. I had a smaller hole after my surgery -a year ago this coming Feb, and it went through a similar healing process as yours. Mine was filled with a white \"nonviable\" connective tissue that I had to remove daily in the shower using water pressure. You would never even know that anything was wrong there now - I\'d say it is at least 95% gone aesthetically. Once the wound closed I started putting Tamanu oil on it daily, which is for scarring and gentle on the skin and is 100% natural.
The answer to your question is that it heals from the bottom up - sooner or later it will meet the same layer as the rest of your skin and smooths itself out. If you look at my thread you will see the hole. It was not as big as yours was but you seem to be on the same healing path I was. I\'d say relax and let time work itself on you, you are out of the woods in terms of infection once the wound has closed. Glad to see you are doing so much better!

Feeling optimistic finally, but still cautious.

It looks way better - and a year from now will hardly be noticeable I bet. Mine looks like a very faint birth mark at the most. Most importantly it looks healthy.

Hey guys, I asked Alter if I should use am oil, ie Tamanu, to aid in the healing. He didn\'t know that oil, but said I can use any anti scar cream that I want, but didn\'t have any specific suggestions. What do you guys think I should use? Tamanu oil, Biafine, mederma? What would be best for maximum healthy skin growth?

Personally I don\'t think the scar gels are as effective as the sheets. They are more hassle to use as you have to shave and use tape to make sure they stay in place. But I think the seal is much better with the sheets. I\'m not convinced the gels even work. I think the sheets work by keeping air out and they have a strange \"molding\" quality to the tissue underneath. I had a terrible keloid scar, but cica care, silicone gel sheets really changed the feel and appearance after just a few weeks. I\'d used gels prior to that, which had no impact at all. The science behind how the silicone works isn\'t fully understood and I\'ve read some people argue that it isn\'t the silicone itself which is doing anything, which would explain why, in my experience, the sheets are more effective.

Oh and your penis is on the verge of looking normal. I\'ve followed your story for several years and remember your photos from MNS, Dr Solomons website and on here. Throughout all that, it\'s always looked a bit odd (though not when Erect), as you know. Yet once the healing is complete, you are going to have totally normal looking penis. It must be strange after 20 years or whatever it is. It will probably take a bit of adjusting mentally. You must be so used to being self conscious of the fact your penis was deformed, that changing that insecure mindset may take a while.

Hunkydory mentioned that he used water pressure to break-up the white non-viable tissue build-up on his wound. This seems to be where I\'m at. Should I do the same?

See if you can get \"skintegrity\" gel from a doctor.

Hey guys, I\'m 2 months out from my surgery date. Some may remember that ED was my other problem. I\'ve lightly masturbated a couple times, and here\'s what I noticed about my Erection (post-op):
- I\'ve lost length, possibly up to 1\"
- It seems easier to get an Erection.
- My Erection angle has improved. It was probably a 130-140 degree angle before. It\'s now probably 110 degrees or better.
- The shaft is not as \"firm\" or \"hard\" to the touch. It\'s like the skin is smoother, and/or not as heavy as before.

Some pros/some cons. I\'d appreciate any feedback. Thanks.
