I was able to get an early surgery date with Dr Alter. I\'m 2 days post-op-Tuesday. He did the partial VY reversal, removed the bulky Belladerm, and removed that extra fat on my ride side of shaft. He\'s a great guy, and very caring. I\'m very swollen, still have the blood drain inserted, but hopeful. I met with him today again, and saw the work for the first-time. Scary still. The scariest part is this triangular section above my base (I guess it would be considered lower groin area) that was very delicate. He said that his only concern was this section was so poorly vascularized (i.e. weak) and susceptible to damage if not healed appropriately. I\'m having the drain removed tomorrow, and fly back East early Sat morning.

Good luck with your recovery!

Take it easy, stay off your feet and get plenty of fluids.

As always photos would be greatly appreciated for the possible benefit of others in the future. You never know, someone else might come along needing a partial VY reversal.

I sent this pic to Dr Alter last night, 9 days post op. My concern was tat the swelling is not getting better. He called me and said he thinks I might have an infection - from the red looks. I don\'t think I do, but he\'s calling in antibiotic. What do you think? It\'s the swelling that worries me. No fever or anything. I\'ll be seeing him in NYC on Monday, but now he\'s got me worried.

It looks a little red, but who can really tell from that photo?

Do you have an incisions on the under side?

I wouldn\'t be too worried about the swelling, as I remember being heavily swollen for some time after surgery. How long has the redness been present?

When you see him on Monday, would you mind asking how often he is in his NYC office? I actually have a consult with Dr Solomon in the same building I think.

There\'s no incision on the underside.
The swelling is scary, puffed up penis appears to be putting much stress on the penis skin. Would infection cause the swelling to remain? I checked timing of my prior surgery, and by now, swelling would have been gone. I will ask about his timing in NY. Thanks, hoddle

Infection could be the cause of the swelling still being there, but so could the surgery. You aren\'t going to heal at the same rate for any 2 surgeries.

But I wouldn\'t worry too much. We all know the infections can cause problems and hence we panic when we think we have one. But ultimately, most infections get sorted out with some antibiotics. It\'s not as if you have a graft in there or anything that would need removing if you were infected.

How are your incisions looking and the tissue around them?

The incisions seem to be ok. I think they\'re healing normally. I\'m on the antibiotic now.

The veritical incision is getting redder, and starting to be uncomfortable. Is this indicative of the Sutures breaking?

Here is photo this morning, 2 days after the last one. Does it look better? I can\'t tell. The swelling of the shaft has created this hard band like construction around top base. I\'m worried about blood flow. I\'m a bit panicky right now. Anybody have any advice?

What are you panicky about? It still looks red, but the incisions look fine and the surrounding tissue looks good.

Thanks Hoddle. I\'m panicked about the fact that the swelling has created this hard texture and ring of restriction at the base, causing blood flow blockage. Hence the threat of Necrosis, my ugly past. Yeah I know the imagination goes wild, but look at me, I\'m a fucking disaster. Thanks again for your emotional support.

If that was happening the skin would be black, not red.

What do you think about that hole right on top of my wound? It seems to be growing, and deepening? Will it pop? Do you think it\'s Necrosis, or just suture separation?

It looks like a separation to me, but it\'s hard to tell. Have you sent Dr Alter a photo?
