It would be more appropriate if you shared your experience so others can learn from it. Simply bashing the doctor for the sake of bashing him is not what this forum is about. He\'s already earned whatever reputation he has through first-hand accounts, backed up credibly with photos, etc. You can follow suit, otherwise I\'m advising you no longer post in this fashion.

Let me just say that I am not defending anyone, the Dr included. I think that you all need to realize that the vast majority of people that have successful surgeries are not going to create profiles online to talk about it. The Dr claims to have performed over 1000 of these surgeries. As far as I can tell there are only a hand full of you that have had any issues......

I\'d also like to hear about his experience minus the politics. I\'m just hoping he is no UncleJJ. The dynamics are not dissimilar: rose-colored perspective, defends the doctor as though on a mission, vague promise to contribute. I\'ll believe it when I see it.

Lets keep this thread focused on the issue. In the end, the FDA is what it is. I would like to read what is this guy\'s experience with Elist too.

whoa whoa don\'t even get me started on how corrupt the FDA is... please don\'t make that as your argument.
Edit: just read your post lasttime... yessir... FDA is all abut the money.. watch the Burzynski movie... it\'s on netflix if anybody has it... you\'ll see how it\'s all about the money vs people dying from cancer in that movie. So why would they care about the health of our penis?

This is an abstract from a comment from page 4 on my patient progress post by cjruiz21:

\"I will keep track of your experience and see if it went good for you, because I see a bunch of negative'experiences here but I don\'t think that all of the patients have a negative outcome otherwise Dr. Elist would be out of business by now don\'t you think??\"

cjruiz21, supposedly following my progress because he is considering an implant himself, registered on 10/14. Megadong, supposedly having an implant for 4 years registered today. Both men seem to share exactly the same sentiment: that Elist\'s business success warrants dismissal of negative accounts here. I don\'t want to provoke a shill-hunt, but I will say that there is a consistent logic pattern here that feels irritatingly like that of a shill. I am a recent patient of Dr. Elist, and will go to the mat for what I think is an awesome innovation. I paid $10,500 for it, am pleased with some positive aspects and hopeful that some negative aspects (such as retraction and numbness) are merely temporary. However, I\'ve stated my dissatisfaction with Dr. Elist\'s ethics and professionalism. His FDA approval (an initial selling point I had liked) is because of the material (not the procedure), and he openly explained as much when walking me through the waiver process. In my opinion, a real patient (whether prospective or former) would not feel dismissive of negative accounts but sympathetic (such as myself, CK, marknmau, messageman, lasttime, etc). This need to prop Dr. Elist up feels slimy and not unlike his own professional manner in scapegoating. I\'m all for an open discussion, but DO NOT dismiss someone\'s negative experience here. It\'s valuable information, and what\'s more it\'s the cause of some people\'s pain, debilitation and financial setback.

So, you've had the implant since 2007? Wow, you are indeed a true pioneer'Funny, 'I thought I was one of the first ones to get the implant, and that was in 2009. 'And you've never had issues? I'm assuming that you still have the 'original' model 'implant 'since you've never had any issues. Why is it then that Doctor Elist keeps 'updating' and 'refining' the implant if there have been no problems with the implant?'''

Megadick, I can tell you that I have personally spoken with several patients regarding the bad effects of the implant. Plus, just because your implant hasnt had any infection or problems, does not mean that it is not totally detectable when a women touches it or give you head. I hope you have had success in the bedroom with it, but for most guys it is not natrual at all.

@megadong
I think you\'ve misunderstood what hoddle10 is implying.' I\'m confident that Dr. Elist does have FDA approval of his prosthesis but only to the extent of the material itself, not the procedure of implantation for penis augmentation.' And no, the FDA does not investigate such procedures.' I know some patients that are very happy with their implant.' I know of many more that are unhappy or even permanently disfigured.' Just because a medical device has a patent and is made of an FDA approved material, does not mean it\'s altogether a \'good idea\' to put it in the penis.' Where are all of the negative reports from the FDA on penile bioplasty?' I haven\'t seen any nor do I know of any study that has been carried out on PMMA used in the penis.' I do realize that cadaver grafts do exhibit complications and have read reports regarding infection, absorption, skin Necrosis, contracture causing curvature, etc.' I\'ve never heard of the FDA recommending ANY surgery... even some with extraordinary successful track records.' Also, if you click on the \"Go Advanced\" button, you are provided with a \"Spell Check\" feature.' Please check your posts before submitting.' Also, Dr. Elist is an MD.' Whether one agrees with his methods for Phalloplasty or not, please give him the respect he deserves by capitalizing his name and preceding it with \"Dr.\" or \"Doctor\".' If you have access to reports on PMMA penile bioplasty from the FDA, I\'d love to see them.

Respectfully,
M7

Who says the FDA recommend it?

You don\'t believe it has high complication rates?

hoddle10,

Really??

So your saying that the FDA is in the business of recommending surgeries with high complication rates? This is the same FDA that discourages the use of alloderm and PMMA because of the high compication rates.

Sir, exactly what is is that you think the FDA does? Of course they investigate these things. That is what they do...

What you are saying sounds about as rediculous as saying the IRS does not investigate tax returns.

Really?????

megadong wrote: I see that there is a lot of negative info on doctor elist here, I have had them implant for over 4 years and have never experianced anything nagative at all.

From what I understand the doctor has FDA approval on the implant. If the complication rate was that high how could he have that approval?

Does that make sense?

How would the FDA know if there was a high complication rate with his procedure? I seriously doubt the FDA did any testing on his implant, but rather simply passed the type of silicone. Saying it has FDA approval is about as valuable to his patients as the useless patent he used to always mention. Both the FDA approval and the patent are purely misleading marketing tools and are exactly what you\'d expect with a Dr who uses shills and MNS to do his marketing.

I don\'t think he has ever published any results for his implant and the complication rate is obviously very high, otherwise he wouldn\'t continually be changing it.

I am sure it does. This board is about getting the personal comments from those who experienced some form of penis enhancement. If there are positive experiences, bring them on.

Why dont you tell us about yours? How was it when you started, how is it now, post op, 4 years afterwards?

ANy before and after pics?
