Yes this is true mikehok , check the 1st site I posted above .
This is a copy-paste from it :-
The bovine collagen [1, 2] appears to maintain the separation between the micro- spheres and facilitates tissue ingrowth (Fig. 2). Without ArteFill's collagen component the microspheres would clump together'a phenomenon observed in other filler formulations using Hyaluronic Acid-based or methylcellu- lose carriers [9].

I\'ve taken this excerpt from one of the reports about migration:
Migration Studies and Histology of Injectable Microspheres of Different Sizes in Mice Gottfried Lemperle, M.D., Ph.D., Vera B. Morhenn, M.D., Vasumati Pestonjamasp, Ph.D., and Richard L. Gallo, M.D., Ph.D. San Diego, Calif.
Injectable Dermal Filler materials consist of either fluids, biological fragments, or suspensions of particles or microspheres. Particles and microspheres are said to 'migrate,' but migration can occur only when they are injected into blood vessels. To evaluate biocompatibility and transport, five nonresorbable polymethylmethacrylate microspheres of various sizes, suspended in different carriers, as well as resorbable polylactic acid and dextran microspheres were injected subcutaneously into mice. The five implantation sites were the right cheek, right axilla, right groin, urethra, and the right quadriceps muscle of the thigh. These sites were excised along with the local lymph nodes, lungs, liver, and spleen at 1, 3, 6, and 9 months after injection. Polymethylmethacrylate microspheres of 4 m and 8 m were phagocytosed but not transported to lymph nodes or distant organs. Larger microspheres of 20, 40, and 100 m were encapsulated by connective tissue, macrophages, and giant cells. Polylactic acid microspheres caused a mild inflammatory response and had disappeared at 6 months. Dextran microspheres caused a pronounced foreign-body reaction and were phagocytosed at 9 months. The extremely large carboncoated spheres of 200 to 500 m in diameter 'migrated' up to 1 cmfrom the implantation site. With the exception of an erroneous intravenous injection, no migration or transportation of any of the injected microspheres to lymph nodes or filter organs was seen. Obviously, the collagen glue released no microspheres. After subdermal injection, the collagen carrier substance kept the microspheres apart as a scaffold for tissue ingrowth, whereas all other carrier substances, such as gelatin, Hyaluronic Acid, or alginate, separated soon after injection, thereby causing agglomeration of the microspheres. (Plast. Reconstr. Surg. 113: 1380, 2004.)

Smartman,

I believe directly contacting Dr. Cohen about his opinion would be very beneficial for the forum.

@ New1inch,
I have the feeling that 5 years is a bit long a timeline for any given method or technology these days. Today I spoke with a Phalloplasty specialist who operated two thousand men for length and Girth and he was adamant that PMMA very much depends on the s of the hands which apply it, as do for a large measure other fillers - those which get resorbed are however less critical because you can always wait for errors to self-destruct over time.
I think that there are possibly other options lurking in the sidelines which might come to the forefront in the coming couple of years, such as stem cell advances, targeted chemical methods and even possibly cell activation with the \"vampire\" technique? Furthermore PMMA will remain limited in its development in Phalloplasty by the fact that it is very s and experience dependent, meaning that while Dr C is expert as employing it others may not fare so well, creating potential risks for patients and also possibly reaching improbable and unwanted results. Yet you are quite correct that today PMMA as offered by Dr C is quite tempting as it promises a very seductive ratio of result to cost while properly managing latent risks of this material.

Haha.. just sitting back thinking last october or november when on the old forum we all was hoping for a cure all procedure and PMMA was just something no one really knew about trying to find different articles on it and such.. now It seems as if this whole website is dedicated to PMMA even though I know its not but the topic is soo prominent. Boy how things change so fast..lol.. Guess thisis our only real option for the next 5 years or so huh?

I\'ve been reading everything on this site and others regarding PMMA and it appears to be a great alternative to a fat transfer.

Thanks guys. For your face, there are lots of options for fillers...juvaderm, Restylane, Radiesse, sculptra, etc. Most last 6 months to a year, Sculptra maybe 2 years, so if Dr C and staff chose PMMA instead, they must have total faith in it.
Would you put something in your face if you thought there was a high probability of complications? This assures me that they felt it was the best option for them.

Wade told me he has PMMA all over his body. You can tell that he has had some work done on his face. Also the guy who works at the front desk, Christian, I think his name is told me that he had PMMA as well, just not in his penis.

Both Wade and Dr. C have stated that they have PMMA all over their body.

SO,
The reason I have mentioned that because my doctor from Brazil (Dr.Samy Passy - Metacrill) told me that time :- I could buy Metacrill from him directly or he could sell it to any doctors back home (so it looks so easy to buy Metacrill in Brazil and it is dangerous in the same time I think there are may be many non-professional persons in Brazil can get Metacrill easily and inject people with it and that\'s why you hear some bad results (e.g. lumps etc.), and I think Newplastic can be sold in the same way, I might be wrong. Or may be you just ask Dr.C. if he can give you a small ampule of Newplastic for any reason without telling him anything about our worries (I know you might not succeed).
Actually testing Newplastic or Metacrill is not so important for me, I dont need this test, ( as you know I had Artecoll in one side of my face for 15 yrs and Penile Metacrill for 3 yrs ) but I am interested of having PMMA injection in the future in the gap between the glans and the shaft . Till now I have no problem whats so ever from PMMA.
I just want to help and to give the guys esp. who are interested in penile PMMA but still they have the fear of PMMA migration how to prove that Newplastic is almost pure from any small irregular beads.

@smartman
I would not be alarmed if Dr. C\'s answer was \"no,\" because he could be violating any number of medical regulations/policies that would prevent giving out certain things/injectables/etc without proper reason/diagnosis/prescription, etc - however I don\'t know for certain what his answer would be and will ask.
I will be seeing them late July and will consult with them regarding the matter of New Plastic (and New Plastic vs other brands) during my 2nd appointment.

SO,
How about asking Wade or Dr.C. about our discussion that there are many guys in the forum would like to have Newplastic injection but they are worried about the possibility of migration of microspheres and there are some reports saying that Newplastic contains small or irregular beads , and they would like to have a small ampule of Newplastic (he might give us the ampule for free if he is interested to have more patients and he is convinced that Newplastic is almost pure) to be checked by (a non bias) US pathologist (SEM images) if his answer is NO, I will be very worried. What do you think ?

sparticus,
I am sure Artefill is more superior than the other products not only in regard of the microspheres but also the advantage of the carrier ( bovine collagen ) it helps in spreading the beads evenly till the new collagen take over.
I think in my opinion the best way to have the true answer for our Q. is if somebody from our forum can buy a small ampule of Newplastic ( I would love to do it just to have the proof but the problem I live far away from USA) and to be tested by a pathologist (not bias) ( and to do SEM images) looking for any small or irregular microspheres (purity of the beads) then we will be very satisfied and convinced after we see the result . So in my opinion by getting the answers from either Lemperle or Cohen wont help or convince most of us .
