TOPIC: Update on my surgical removal

Update on my surgical removal 1 day 22 hours ago #1308720345

Day 13 post surgery to remove filler

As I mentioned above, the black area is not derma bond, but it is necrotic skin that will flake off. Nothing to worry about. Initially I was told two incisions and there are seven scars and that’s where the scalpel came through or whatever he was using to try to break up and remove the filler that he said was like rock or superglue. So those were accidents unfortunately, but they should heal fine.
I went ahead and started the antibiotic because it had smell this morning and I’d rather just not deal with that. I go back next Wednesday for the three week follow up.

He assures me that the shape will be much better once the swelling is gone, and the stitches are absorbed or removed. I forget which he said.
I really appreciate the messages here and the private messages supporting me. It means a lot.

I am so so sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but Necrosis is very much a very big deal. You are at risk of losing your penis. This is a direct result of the silicone oil that was injected. It is absolutely unconscionable that you were told it is being FDA approved. It most certainly is not and the FDA in fact warns very strongly against the use of silicone oil. We have been seeing more and more of these cases in our office and Dr. Carney has had to admit every single one of them to the hospital to save their penises. Please consult with someone familiar with these terrible cases IMMEDIATELY, and NOT someone who injects silicone of any sort or "CMC"/"carboxymethylcellulose" as they have been calling it recently. I don't want to alarm you unnecessarily, but this is much more of a problem than you have been led to believe and I want to see you not lose your penis. We are more than happy to consult with you or answer any questions or help in any way possible with this. Again, I am so sorry this is happening to you. I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy.

I’ve cut Contact with Dr. Dellinger and my Urologist managing this now. He did the surgery. This Necrosis is limited to the layer of skin between the silicone apparently and the air. I’m very lucky that none of the silicone or PMMA attached to the penis itself. It is in the process of sluffing off and it is gross. And I go in Thursday to have it debrided. I’m on antibiotics and two Urologist And an ER surgeon has seen it and assure me it’s fine just gross and it’s healing as it should. Which of course is not fast enough or pretty enough for me, but I don’t have a lot of choice in the matter. It is very distressing. I just got in from seeing my therapist about it so This has turned into a horrible ordeal and I’m hoping the state medical board agrees with me.

Very relieved to hear you've cut contact and have begun the healing process both physically and psychologically. Keeping my fingers crossed for you that the medical board steps up and stops him from doing this to anyone else and that you're able to be made whole.
