His exact words were “it will never be perfect” which is totally true but in context it was to dismiss my conversation around the aesthetics. I’m not going to do it any time soon, but I can’t see why not. The only thing I can think of is the vendor selling bad product and then not having a lab to test it. A lab test probably costs a bit…
Self-injecting topics (DIY) are against Forum Rules.
And Dr.
Shafer is technically correct, and I suspect, as you pointed out (his cordiality), he was being respectfully blunt for reality's sake. Your last updated photos were some of the best
Hyaluronic Acid (
HA) gains I've seen in a penis that was sufficiently augmented aesthetically (a subtle way of saying "made huge without looking fake").
We're our own harshest critics, and sometimes we can self-sabotage when we think with the
"wrong head." I won't mention the Member, but there was a veteran user who, at one point, was approaching an 8" x 7" (between surgery and PE exercises over years)... he said that when he looked at himself naked in the mirror, he still felt small. And this was (and is) a very highly intelligent and successful man... we're all capable of digging our own rabbit holes, and I hope myself and this Community can serve as a safeguard for those who come here for genuine advice.
The fact that you'd consider a DIY approach based on your results tells me you've perhaps become detrimentally obsessive -- and I say this as a
Patient Advocate before anything else. Size/body dysmorphia, the "ease & immediacy" of
Girth (and the initial post-operative swelling), and disposable income (for some; I don't know about your situation, and it's not my business) can create the perfect storm.
Dr.
Shafer is a world-class Plastic Surgeon and has been an innovator in the field for well over a decade; he's a consummate professional, and his comments to you were perhaps a necessary reality check. In fact, I'll put it bluntly myself to all who are reading this: when you electively augment your penis through artificial means, there will always be a degree of artificiality in your outcome... the idea is that the results are so good that only you can tell (since you knew what your penis was like before enhancement)... and only the most scrutinizing might notice. In other words, it will "never be perfect" because, technically, it's not 100% natural.
Perhaps you just need some touching-up if you've had some uneven dissipation of the
HA, but I don't exactly feel like that's the primary issue here.
Sincerely (and respectfully), I would avoid any permanent options (like
PMMA) entirely if you feel the way you do now. If you're not content with very good
HA work, you'll be devastated to learn that the permanent options require a significantly higher degree of invasiveness to remove (which, in and of itself, invites more risk of complications).
And to reiterate what I opened this response with: DIY topics are not only forbidden, but they also clearly act as a signal that you may want to re-evaluate your attitudes & perceptions on the matter. I'm not trying to be an armchair psychologist, but given your remarkable results over the years from an ethical practitioner, investigating any underlying issues could provide more peace than an even bigger
Dick.
I mean that, and the best of luck truly.
