I believe this is the GQ authors email address : This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

And her agents : Elyse@cheneyliterary.comAdam@cheneyliterary.com

Would it be wrong to send them a quick email expressing a view on the quality of her research and journalistic integrity?

Just asking.

Everyone here, especially former Elist patients, ought to make use of those links/addresses ASAP.

Reading it in GQ can legitimize this procedure in the minds of many clueless guys who may or may not come across this forum.

It\'s actually really absurd.

I have to agree. Email these people and let them know how irresponsible this was.

I wrote them all a letter - lets see if anything happens. If enough people do it is bound to get their attention.

I saw that too, very recently there has been a firestorm of articles promising a \'\'NEW\'\' technique....even though this has kinda been debunked for a long time.
Ok, so I\'ve got an opinion to ask, and I know this won\'t win me any friends, but if this procedure has any hope of working at all, and it\'s only a matter of perfecting a technique that won\'t butcher someone, does anyone else think that as long as people fully understand the risks involved (and there was more than one surgeon trying this) that it should still be tried?
Breast implants did not start out good, not at all... they hurt many woman, caused a lot of problems, and I think may have killed someone, I haven\'t done any research on that, so....I could be wrong. So the woman who put their bodies on the line were pioneers into a field that is now fairly commonplace. I don\'t know of a good solution, animal activists would want to freaking burn someone for trying this on animals, but seriously, this is a risky field, and there has to be someway to gain some real advancement or we\'ll be stuck with what we currently have. I\'m not a Dr, I dont have any answers, just wondering what others might think.

The penis is a dynamic organ, breasts aren\'t. Also you can\'t implant under the muscle with the penis. If you\'ve ever felt breast implants and they felt very obvious, then they are usually over the muscle. I know all breast implants are pretty obvious, but sometime they just feel appalling and that is when they are placed under the skin.

A silicone implant in the penis is a stupid idea.

I was thinking the same thing about the penis being way more complex. Hell, we can\'t even \'really\' do anything about glans size, and that\'s a HUGE aesthetic issue. And no, I\'m not counting the temporary glans enhancement with the acid stuff.

There is no \"perfecting\" an inherently flawed technique/implant. That\'s the absurdity in this all... with every \"new improvement\" being gimmickry as opposed to some sort of actual advancement in methodology.

I want to have it removed. Let me know who else removes them other than Elist. Cost?

New the board......and I\'m scared guys. Really scared.

I was actually feeling pretty good about this, about 3 days ago. I\'m 3 weeks into the Elist implant and relatively speaking, have been without any pain or real discomfort. The GQ article did it for me. I went to the web site, read the reviews, looked at the YouTube videos and saw what I wanted to see. I have a Flaccid micropenis 2.5\" that turtles in, but EL about 5.5\". I thought this would do the trick for me.

Now I\'m contemplating having it removed now. I can\'t afford to lose any more EL. Would anyone give this a chance and not have it immediately removed?

@JohnnyLovely - I believe that Dr. Alter has removed the implant, but I may be mistaken.

@Prezzjr - There are some guys on here who have had the implant. I think the majority of them have had it removed. Really, I am unsure about how long you have to wait to have it removed after receiving it, but given the track record, I would not personally trust it. With Removal you are going to run the risk of scarring, due to the implant. Elist actually says the scarring is a benefit. Spin doctor.

@Johnny Lovely. I got in contact with Dr. Alter\'s office. They\'ve done a number of removals, since the GQ article came out. That\'s who I am going with.

@briceb. Dr. Alter and I are going to discuss options next week. I think the thought process is Removal ASAP, but I\'ll know more after speaking to him. Definitely the longer it stays in, the longer the risk of scarring. Psychologically for me now, I need it out.

@hoddle 10. A silicone implant is a completely stupid idea, agreed. For some reason, I bought the idea that it conforms to your body eventually, and at some point becomes unnoticeable. I heard what I wanted to hear from him, and that stupid GQ article, which made it seem like this was a no brainer and everyone is doing it. I should have seen the signs. The data and story didn\'t reconcile. GQ said no sexual intercourse for 3-6 months. The initial phone discussion I had was 4-6 weeks. The post op said 4-8 weeks. Which was it? Flaccid gains, was it immediate or does it take time for \'gravity\' to do it\'s work? Again, the story always changed.

you paid $13k for implant, have no pain or discomfort, read some threads and now want it out? doesn\'t make any sense to me..........yet

I think you ought to at least try and see what happens - you\'ve already bit the bullet - why not follow instructions, take it easy and see how it turns out?

Maybe the thought of the implant rupturing through the skin, Sutures ripping out, deformation, scarring, length loss, unnatural look and feeling, etc. were enough to make him second guess his decision...
