Yeah, I remember our convos.......I still think about if I could go back & know what I know now, but life is about weighing our options & takingall the facts we have in front of us & making the best ddecision possible.......in 2009, I made a terrible decision which is hard to forget.

Also, we didn\'t have all the horror stories about this clown of a doctor to read about, & I hope every patient that went under the blade with him is having a positive life after the fact.

But I fear the mental anguish many suffered & are on anti-depressants for the rest of their lives, I myself haven\'t & will never touch AD\'s pills.

And to think that bastard is living in a house we paid for & a car he\'s driving we also paid for & those vacations he goeson which we also paid for.........

A few days ago Elist had his implant presented at the SMSNA (Sexual Medical Society of North America) conference in Vegas. I seriously do not know how he gets away with the information he throws out there regarding his implant.

Dr. Elist is held in the highest regard in the Urology industry, given he is a Diplomate of the American Board of Urology.

Why doesn\'t Dr. Alter grow some Balls and advocate that this man is struck off? The reason why he is still practising because no surgeon is game enough to support a patients claim/s in court.. To prove negligence you usually need two or more specialist reports' It is very very hard to sue a doctor, especially when they are usually all acquainted and they attend the same seminars.. It is a big boys club.. Dr. Alter profits from Elist\'s botched work & Elist profits from Alter\'s conservatism when he says he will not sever the ligament down like most phallo surgeons and he won\'t go Girth enhancement' Call me cynical but it is true!

I\'ve wondered the same thing. Between the inquiries and the surgeries (repairing Dr. Elist disasters), how hasn\'t he himself (Dr. Alter) made a formal complaint toward an investigative and/or authoritarian body (e.g. Medical Board of California)??

Maybe the politics are more complicated than we know...whatever the case, it sickens me to know this particular person still puts innocent & naive men at risk for the sake of his bottom line.

Praying his victims have a day in court...and win. This nonsense must stop. The Elist silicone implant is obsolete, unsafe, risky, and should be shunned in all medical corners.

May PhalloBoards continue to be a refuge for those who did not know, a beacon for those who wish to know, and a broadsword for those who seek to right that which is wrong.

If you notice at the bottom of the abstract there is a disclaimer that the \"research\" was done by International Medical Devices Inc.
Any guesses who owns that company...

I don\'t think Alter would want to subject himself to legal retaliation by filing a complaint although maybe he could provide expert testimony if someone else takes legal action. Also implant Removal is just a tiny fraction of Alters practice. He does not strike me as the type of person that enjoys profiting from peoples misery so I would never suspect he is promoting Elists procedure.

The paper claimed only 3% (12 of 400) of implantees experienced complications. I find this hard to believe. One thing nobody can argue with though is that Dr E is making millions with the silicone implant.

Dr. Alter is very expensive to Repair botched surgery.

Dr. Alter after speaking to him, says he repairs on average 3 penis\' per week from botched surgery.

Dr. Alter will not testify in court for you' Asked him. So why I wonder? If he is passionate about patient safety? So doesn\'t one surgeon come forward and do it?

This is why it is hard to prove negligence against Elist.


1. Not many doctors will do it

2. It is expensive to fight

3. Hard to prove

4. You signed an authorisation \'agreeing to the risks\'

5. It would be embarrassing for a man to go from surgeon to surgeon showing the botched penis, asking for a report to present to court

Many of the botched surgeries Alter fixes are other failures like grafts and fillers so the 3/week applies to full spectrum of fixes. BTW I totally agree with your 5 points. Elist makes lots of $$ so it is unlikely he will change course. Perhaps he has settled with some of the victims before legal action was pursued. This would minimize fees for both parties and likely remain confidential. I am just speculating of course and have no inside info.

People need to research patient reports available and draw their own conclusions. I personally will not be getting a silcone implant anytime soon !

I actually think elist does NOT make a lot of money on his penile implants, he makes money on the testicles implants though.

Of all the people who had their implants, only very very few had kept it. In most cases, elist removed the implants for free as far as I can guess from this site. Mine was free, he paid for my blood work and he even offered to put an XXL implant for free had I wanted too.

So, if you add the costs of renting the operating room (twice; install and remove), the anesthesia costs and all other costs I really think he may not be making the $10,000 he charges for each op.

His office is full of mostly old men, so he has many other patients to support his business well.

Anyone who has dealt with him can easily detect an egotistic person who like to show off in his own sick way. I think the implant is just a way to make him feel he is doing something no one else has ever done before, he want to be unique....his way of feeling he accomplished something unique in his medical career in the USA!

I agree Mustang, I\'m sure there are a thousand ways for him to make better money than this implant after the costs. He is probably just a nutcase.
Another surgeon the corrects a lot of failed surgeries as we know is Dr Gelman, and he seems like a really honorable guy at face value. Surely there are many others it is quite the thing that none of them speak up about this. Or do so as a group.

I take it you\'ve read through this entire thread? Do a search for Elist on our search page or heck, even something like \"PhalloBoards Elist\" in Google and you\'ll get about as much \"good and/or bad\" as you can find anywhere.

It would be more appropriate if you shared your experience so others can learn from it. Simply bashing the doctor for the sake of bashing him is not what this forum is about. He\'s already earned whatever reputation he has through first-hand accounts, backed up credibly with photos, etc. You can follow suit, otherwise I\'m advising you no longer post in this fashion.
