So as many following the forum recently may know, Ian is no longer at AD. Dr. M and Dr. Uribe performed my procedure. I’ll have check ins Thursday and Friday and from what it sounds like it’ll be Dr. M performing those check ins.
Pretty importantly, their recommended aftercare plan for me is different from what was recommended during round 1 and what is typical on these forums.
Namely, I am to keep my post-op wrap on until I’m ready for bed basically which is let’s say ~9 hours (procedure was at 12pm). Previously protocol was wrap for four hours then AD would remove the wrap, perform the first massage, and then the patient would massage periodically.
I should then plan to sleep as normal (no midnight massages) and wrap again once I wake up. Then I’ll have a follow up later that day, Dr. M will inspect and massage as needed, then wrap me up again.
On my Friday check in it sounds like there’s a chance I may be injected with additional product should we see any early irregularities. Stretching is still recommended, but given I’ll be wrapped more constantly, it’ll be more periodic (ex 3-4 times per day).
Rationale seemed that the doctors have concerns that the frequent massages are irritating the penis and more often moving things around and potentially out of place. Or dramatically increasing swelling. I feel like this can make sense. You read a lot of stories here about people being unsure about technique, or right amount of pressure etc. in cases like that I can see how self massage can do more harm than good. Additionally, others also report that the product can generally be kind of difficult to move around even after the first day. So it feels intuitive that if we can preserve the initial post injection shape through wrapping then it could lead to a more intentional looking result. Then massages on day 2+ truly are just smoothing rather than massaging to shape
Idk! I truly see an argument for either side. Im planning to follow somewhat of a hybrid approach. I’ll give a light massage tonight after I take the wrap off and another one tomorrow before putting it back on.
During round 1 I massaged hourly. Even then my low spots stayed low and my good spots stayed good. There wasn’t really any “moving where there’s too much to where there’s too little”. And yea I did get quite a bit of edema at one point but it did go away. Feels like a classic nature vs nurture problem lol.
