As a result of multiple failed...and ironically misnamed...\'PE\' surgeries, I am facing the reality of an \'inflatable penile prosthesis\' (IPP) as a last resort option to regain any kind of sexual function going forward. Without delving too deeply, or reliving too many painful (literally & figuratively) memories, I have endured failed alloderm (Rheinschild & Wineland), dermal graft (Krakovsky), and silicone (Elist) implant surgeries over more than a decade of ill-advised attempts to resolve my illogical male insecurities. I am an aesthetic mess, and a (dys)functional nightmare, with little to no remaining sensation. I have gotten multiple urological opinions that an IPP is my only remaining viable option. Here is where the true irony comes into the picture. Given the statistical reality that IPP surgery results in decreased
Erect length and
Girth in a clear majority of males, I have been researching for an option to minimize the odds of another disappointment. The two main alternatives appear to be either 1) praying that I find and experience an IPP surgeon who is one of the very few with a majority of their patients who end up with 90-95% or more of their pre-IPP surgical length and
Girth dimensions, or 2) consider a \'dual procedure\' protocol with Dr Elist that utilizes his silicone implant to block/prevent length retraction following IPP surgery, and perhaps even increases the
Girth of my penis. Before multiple members go \'berserk\' and question my already stipulated poor judgement, please hear me out. As flawed as the concept of thinking that men can safely rely on Dr Elist\'s silicone implant to enhance their \'non-IPP\' penises may be, my research and conversations with Dr Elist\'s patients who have used his silicone implant for the purposes I described, in concert with an IPP, have been consistently positive and satisfied. I cannot explain this phenomenon...but perhaps when the sensation and natural erectile function of the penis are compromised/gone, Dr Elist\'s silicone implant transforms from a \'curse\' into a \'blessing\'. Despite my failed experience with his implant...which he predictably attributed to the compromised (and he was correct) nature of my post-alloderm & dermal graft pseudo-penis...Dr Elist was always reasonably courteous and professional with me. He had a gentleman named Vaheh...who was particularly helpful, candid, and forthright with me...who indicated that Dr Elist\'s complication and success rates have essentially \'flip flopped\' over the last 2-3 years as he has modified both his implant, and surgical technique & protocol. Unfortunately, my experience dates back to the earlier days of his implant, when a \'biofilm\' infection forced the
Removal of my implant. Reasonably reliable accounts indicate that Dr Elist is performing literally scores of his implant surgeries per year, with a notably lower number and percentage of \'unnatural disasters\' like you see recounted here on \'PB\'...and I experienced on a \'first \"gland\" basis\'. Notwithstanding the documented tragic cases involving Dr Elist\'s implant, which seem far fewer with time, and given the apparently more than one hundred cases that he is performing each year, there seems to be a trend towards far less of the complications and nightmares that impacted some of us here, and more successful outcomes...especially when his implant is used in conjunction with an IPP. All of this being said, I am wondering if any members here have an IPP...and, if so, do you have a specific IPP surgeon you recommend...and do you know anyone who has used Dr Elist for IPP surgery, as he states that he has performed literally thousands of IPP procedures, and the handful of his IPP patients who I have spoken with are very satisfied, and encouraging me to use him. Dr Elist has also offered me a significantly lower cost for IPP surgery relative to other urological surgeons, given my \'previous (albeit failed) patient\' status. Thank you in advance for any constructive feedback.
