Getting back to PMMA costs gentlemen.
I think some of the men are upset about the price increase because they had already started the process of (PMMA) when the prices were suddenly jacked up. Often times a patient will need 3 procedures (or even more) to obtain his goal. When the patient starts out, he may calculate the expense it will be for all procedures. That\'s what I did at least.
I think the right thing to do would to have honored the original quotes (for the entire process) for those members who had already started the PMMA process.

Damn this thread went from bad to worse in a hurry. Brah\'s must be on clomid or something. This thread is pointless, the OP already answered his own question with his first post.

ok got heated around here quickly. I worded that first question wrong because I thought maybe my qoute for the second apt was wrong and was trying to get feed back then later recieved the new price ranges. Anyway I\'m obviously still going to get it done since I still need two procedures and was simply stating that I felt cheated in some way because I did add all the cost up in the beggining and found it managable and now not so much...on the other side of that is that I am very pleased with the results of the first apt and even if I don\'t like it I will admit that PMMA is a good deal IMO. Thanks for the support messagman its like you read my mind.

I agree with MM about the unanticipated \"sticker shock\". What I do not agree with is the horrific display of malicious behavior. We are all brothers here and NO method is perfectly safe or efficacious. I\'d like to remind everyone that regardless of what method one chooses, it makes him no less of a family member as far as I\'m concerned. I hope the agitated parties can put their differences behind them and move forward.

It is acceptable to voice concern but I\'m in aggreance with hoddle10. I\'ve had the procedure myself. It\'s been performed for at least 10 years in Brazil. Some will develop an autoimmune reaction but the majority do not. Polymethyl-methacrylate is NOT some toxic, radioactive foreign substance. It\'s been used inside the body for decades with an excellent track record. It\'s specific use for penile augmentation is still relatively new (circa 10 years). Most reported complications were attributed to poor injection technique by improperly trained personnel, non-regulated product, inconsistent particle/micron sized beads, sharp instrumentation in place of blunt cannulas, etc. This is NOT to say it is without risk. If one truly wishes to gain insight into the safety profile of using PMMA in Phalloplasty, it would serve well to learn Portuguese or German as most detailed medical journals are recorded in these languages. Also, the \"Godfather\" of PMMA Dr. Gottfried Lemperle has had PMMA in his nose for over 20 years now with no adverse immune response nor any other ill effect.
