TOPIC: 20cc of PMMA with Dr. Liu

Today I had 20cc of PMMA injected by Dr. Liu. I’ll keep this post updated over the next 5-6 weeks as I get closer to my final form. I’ll also post pics along the way.

Starting Flaccid: base 4.5”, mid shaft 4.25”, behind the glan at 4”.
Starting Erect: 5.5”, 5”, and 4.75”

I choose PMMA as I had an implant from Dr. Elist but had to have it removed due to trauma from sexual intercourse.

Questions:

How long did it take before the swelling came down? I’m hearing two weeks, but am hoping sooner so I can get a better idea of how it will look (goal is uniform and proportional).

How long before you can walk 3+ miles, ride a stationary bike, swim, or jog? Dr. Liu says my body will guide me but I want to make sure I’m not affecting the final shape of the filler.

How long should you wait before sex? The take home instructions say five weeks but I’ve seen people mention 2-3 weeks in the forum. My big thing is appearance.

Also, I understand PMMA takes time to “solidify” and was wondering how much I can shape and define the final look? I’m going for a uniform, proportional look so I believe I can mold and shape this up to three (?) weeks.

Finally, how did you handle going out in public? Did you remove the wrap for a few hours and then put it back on when you got home?

When Dr. Liu says your "body will guide you", I think he means to be mindful of how you feel in terms of recovery, and that not everyone heals at the same rate -- only you will really know that things are "back to normal."

You have Bellafill which has a bovine carrier, and by that I mean, the recovery process in terms of overall results is harder to predict, but with respect to your situation -- I'd play it as safe as possible -- especially due to the unfortunate implantation of the Elist implant, trauma, and subsequent Removal. Typically with PMMA guys can resume most normal things 1-2 weeks post-op, but I would probably wait a minimum of 2 weeks (and as much as 6 weeks) before putting your unit through any strenuous activity. This isn't due to the PMMA itself, but due to the untold issues (hopefully minimal-to-none) that was left behind after the Removal of the silicone implant.

*Note- Bellafill is an FDA approved PMMA filler and has been shown to work quite effectively for Girth enhancement. However, the vast majority of accounts & anecdotes on this Forum come from International iterations like Linnea Safe, which uses a gel-like carrier that breaks down much faster than bovine. For this reason, contributions (i.e. posts) like yours will help better improve the overall sample size of information in terms of time windows, when to have sex, etc, especially if you continue to update this thread (and I implore & hope you do).

You definitely want to keep it wrapped for at at least the first 72 hours when possible (it doesn't need to be wrapped 72 hours straight), and subsequently massage & mold it when appropriate (I find when showering the best time to do it). The massaging & molding help smooth out any clumping of filler product that can lead to nodules and other aesthetic irregularities. And of course be sure the entry points (where the needle/cannula was injected) remain sterile and until they fully heal & close.

The best way I can describe knowing when your penis is "ready for action," is when you begin to forget you had any work done at all (this would strongly suggest by your own body that complete healing has occurred, and a full integration & encapsulation of the PMMA and collagen has been cemented permanently).

I’ve had 5 Bellafill treatment over the last 3 years. I would say after 3 days there’s not much ability to shape and mold, even after the first 24 hours it’s pretty well set in my experience. I felt best moulding and shaping time was in shower. About 2 weeks of being careful and no sex and then resume life as normal, maybe just a little careful with it. Low point in size seemed to be around 3 week mark, by week 6 or so it was starting to come back. Just my experience.

Timing is going to be key and how I feel makes sense. I’m already seeing good progress going into day two. I’ll keep the thread updated as time progresses.

2 quick questions:

1/ How was the timing on your first or second treatment? I don’t think it’s going to take the full five weeks but I want long term success and feel comfortable (I think) with keeping it wrapped longer.

2/ My biggest drawback is the guaze / athletic wrap and the way it appears in my pants. That’s been a new thing to adjust for. I’m still getting used to the added girth plus the wrap. How did you manage that?

My first 2 treatments I didn’t wrap at all, I used a weighted noose Hanger. It was fine but not great for comfort or practicality. I would use that for 3-4 weeks, goal was to let the filler settle in my most elongated state, who knows if that worked or was a waste of time. Treatments 3-5 I used a self adhesive gauze wrap, it kept me elongated just fine and is easy to use. Did that for 4-6 weeks, not necessarily that I needed it that long, but it was easy to do and wasn’t hurting anything. Never had an issue concealing it in clothing, but I also didn’t need to wear anything tight fitting during that time. I only wrap one layer around.

Six day update:

Things feel good. I’m a lot thicker, close to 5.5” at mid shaft, and am happy with most of the results.

The trouble that I’m having is with the area behind the glans. That area was affected by the implant and there was some slight loss of tissue, which I believe is causing the concerns.

Does anyone know what this is? Is this nodules(?)?

There’s a ridge / gap in the creases (see thumb / white area), which is natural due to my retraction, but has anyone else experienced this? And how did you handle? Im massaging up to five times a day and am noticing improvement.

It's hard to say but doesn't appear alarming. I'd wait till the bruising and swelling have fully subsided to determine if those are nodules, and to be honest I can't even tell from the photo you have attached.

For the unitiated, dermal fillers can sometimes lead to Nodule formation, irrespective of the Injector or brand of PMMA. This is due to a combination of post-op factors including the patient's adherence to post-op massaging and/or wrapping, as well as their skin's propensity to have some of the filler to clump up in some areas, leading to what is a "Nodule" (not to be confused with a granuloma, which is a very clear inflammatory response, versus a Nodule that is purely an aesthetic nuisance).

Nodules often range from what can feel like a small grain of sand and as large as a bb pellet. They are typically harmless and can be fixed on a subsequent visit.

Also for the uninitiated, nodules are quite common and follow-up appointments (i.e. 2nd Rounds) are almost always an inevitability for patients, to either correct minor aesthetic irregularities (if not nodules, it could be correcting mild asymmetry, and other touch-ups) and/or add more Girth.

Swelling and bruising could be affecting the area and i should have less by the next update.

Two week update:

Not sure how I feel. Things appear to be going well but I definitely have a ‘ribbed’ area behind the glan and swelling on the right side of the base (see pics). I’m expecting the swelling to go down but the ribbed area is going to be tough. Again I believe this happened due to the implant being removed, losing some tissue in the area, and my normal retraction.

Since I believe the ribbed area is due to scrotal webbing, I have decided to on the scrotal webbing procedure. Dr. Liu initially offered this procedure but I passed as I just had a non-associated surgery, a few weeks prior, and I was knife shy. I have now decided to go forward with the scrotal webbing procedure to help with the healing process, to add extra space so I can wrap more of the shaft, and to improve the appearance. I’m expecting I’ll have additional filler to help “even” out the ‘ribbed’ area.

I have a follow up in a week and half. In the meantime I hope things smooth out and the swelling reduces.

More updates to follow.

Had the scrotal webbing procedure and I’m happy that I did it. I’m sure results might change, but they told me I gained about an Inch and half in usable length.

The healing process is going well and I’m about a week from having the Sutures removed (two week mark). I’m hoping the third week allows me to get back to normal activity but sexual intercourse is probably a few weeks after that.

Also, the filler procedure is showing less swelling, but time will tell. My main concerns still exist: possibly too much filler and the Girth is larger than expected and there’s some gaps (expected).
