Hi

I had PMMA with Dr.Casavantes around 12 years ago. Just one session which gave a little boost but I had mostly forgotten about. I got married had kids and have just lived my life. My wife doesn’t even know about it.

Yesterday I have developed swelling in the whole area. It looks and feels all pumped up like it did post procedure. Nothing painful yet but it’s looking odd and appears to be swelling more and more.

I am a bit worried about what is happening and have no idea where to turn to or what to do next. Is there any known specialist in UK who I could contact? I see some of the mods from the old boards are still around. Could someone maybe shoot an old timer a pm? Thanks

You could reach out to @Androfill to take a look. They use Ellanse which is quite similar to PMMA in how it generates girth via collagen, and therefore reactions and complications are similar in nature as well.

May I ask, have you applied any strenuous physical force on your penis in the last 24 hours (aggressive masturbation, penis pumping, etc.)? Some men report temporary swelling after bouts of aggressive masturbation, sex, or penile exercises. This appears to be harmless and dissipates over days.

If not, it could be a late onset granuloma reaction, which are known, albeit rare complications that can occur with just about any dermal filler. I would not be alarmed however, these can be treated, however requires a Physician well versed in this area. Androfill would have physicians who would know the protocols to treat a FBG (granuloma), if this is indeed the case.

If you can upload photos it could help give us better context - alternatively you can email them to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. as well.

Again, if there is no pain I wouldn't be alarmed but I would have it examined by someone who knows. A primary care doctor may have no clue what's happening and may end up prescribing a treatment plan that could exacerbate this issue. See someone who experience in this area --> either Androfill in the U.K. -or- if budget & logistics aren't an issue, even a week long trip to MX if that's in the cards.

And please keep the forum up to date, good luck!

Thank you, it seems a lot has changed over the years. There were not really any uk places back then. I will give Androfill a call if this persists. Hopefully they won’t mind that I am not their original client.

I haven’t really aggravated it so I am not sure it’s a reaction to damage.

Hopefully it settles down. Is there anything I can take other than ibruprofen for the swelling in the meantime?

I'd contact Avanti Derma regarding what kind of anti-inflammatories/medications to take, since you were their patient they will at least be able to review your file and give you a quick answer. Androfill is best suited for an in-person consultation, and it would be for the treatment of a possible complication, and I'm not entirely sure their policy on seeing patients outside their own, but it can't hurt.

Hi, I thought I would give an update on where things are

Following my posts I continued to have swelling everywhere for around 10 days, all of the product was expanded like it was post procedure all those years ago while the body gets used to it. My EG was insane compared to what I was used to. It didnt feel or look like my own. Then it began to subside in some places but remained swollen in others, the swelling appeared to be be moving slowly day by day around the shaft.

In the end I ended up calling Androfill. A nice chap answered and he recommended I speak to Professor Ralph as that is who Androfil would refer complications.
A week later I am in Professor Ralph's office to have things checked out. It turns out I had a low level infection and was prescribed some antibiotics for 10 days. I have no idea how an infection or bacteria could have gotten so deep and triggered such a reaction after all these years. Has anyone heard of anything like this? I had no cuts or trauma

The good news is that the antibiotics worked while I was taking them, however I would say I got to around 90% back to normal and the course ended. I think I may need another round though as it appears to be recurring.

Since this incident I am noticing a few changes, the texture and feel of my penis is now very different, it was an overall good finish before but now I have lumps and odd shaping where the swelling was worst,
I am also now much more aware of the product, where before it was well assimilated, I can now feel the product feels different between my fingers, like its toughened a little. I am also able to feel its borders and edges more easily. It may be that I still have inflammation causing this. I am hoping I can get more antibiotics to settle things back to before this all happened but I will need another consultation with the Professor and its pretty expensive, I may have to wait a while.

I will note that this entire episode since the start of June has been relatively painless, its mainly been uncomfortable and worrying.

I would see if you could get another round of antibiotics and maybe some oral steroids to reduce the inflammation...but I'm not a doctor.
