Bleeding post-op from a
surgical procedure isn't unusual, and I don't see any reason to believe it was anything major (he said it slowed and that he no longer needed pain medications, which are signs of progress). Why he has chosen not to post could be due any number of factors, but I'm fairly certain it has nothing to do with his bleeding, especially since he was going to see the Doctor (who would have remedied it, if it persisted).
Hopefully he chooses to update, but you'd be surprised the number of times people abruptly stop posting for one reason or another.
