If anyone has contact with Hoddle10 still, this would be the time to get him in.

Thoughts are with you, Smalljay.

Hey Smalljay, i totally think you can overcome this, don't let yourself deep in bad emotions.
As other suggested, going to a Dermatologist may be a good idea. They see thousands of rushes and could give you the most appropriate therapy.

Thinking of you and M8x7 a lot these days. You guys will do it. ?

smalljay i totally disagree that this could be it. on the other hand i totally empathise with going down massive rabbit holes. no way man is this anything other than a time problem. you\'ve just got to wait it out. you will be patient and see the weeks through.

can i ask you please the scenario playing in your head? do you mean that the lipen d is infected? or the lipen d itself is causing the problem? either of these things mean it can be resolved with expert care. the problem you have right now is not knowing what it is causing it but once you figure that out it will be curable, of course it will. but since you dont know what it is yet you\'ve gone into a tailspin. my gosh i\'ve had plenty of them and i can advise you to wait it out, breath deeply, and recognise this is the most challenging time of your life. once it is over and out of the way, and you back to being a-ok, coz the body can withstand so much, life will be plain sailing having been through what you have.

Number 22 is right, smalljay. I think we both catastrophise due to our neurotic personalities, which makes it hard to be positive and see things clearly.

The body\'s ability to sort itself is unbelievable and you\'re in part off the world worth elite medical care!
I know you\'re in hell, I wouldn\'t handle it as well as you that\'s for sure. Jesus, you\'re a tough SOB.

Everyone here is rooting for you and we do think of you. I do, throughout the day, I think of what you are doing.

Smalljay,
Your situation sounds like one I encountered about 10 years back. The pain and itching was so bad I could barely walk. It felt as if sandpaper was between my legs. It lasted for almost two months.
I was given anti-fungals, they thought it was a yeast infection, was tested for herpes, everything was the exact opposite.
It was not fungal, no yeast, they said I didn't have herpes but in fact I did (it was dormant at the time).

You have to use the steroid ointment buddy. I'll check which one I was given when I get home. When I finally got my answer it was from a good Dermatologist. I asked him what it was and he literally told me 'it doesn't really have a name. It's just one of those things.' He prescribed the steroid ointment which I used and it cleared it up within days. It will come back a few times but nowhere near the level it is now. Use the ointment again and it will go away. The worst is over but it will persist for about 5 years (might reappear every few months).
Youre going to be fine. As soon as I get home I will tell you the name of the ointment. (I forgot because I haven't used it in a long time but I still keep it on hand just in case any minor irritation pops up.
You are gonna be just fine. Don't worry.

Also you will need to keep your skin dry and very clean as possible. Loose clothing especially when at home.
It's easy to reagitate it. It can be a nuisance.
Pick yourself up a bar of Dr Bronners peppermint soap as well.
It's also possible that the condition pops up in other places on body. (Underarms) if this happens you will need to change deodorant. But we can cross that bridge when we get there.

If all the docs are saying take it, I would take it.#

I know it\'s not me, but maybe it\'s easier to see things when you\'re on the outside. They sound quite sure that it will work.

It will work.
Desonide will take care of it as will Triamcelone Acetonide. He needs to use it. And now.

I reckon naginati summed it up here: you\'re confused mate, stressed and burned. we on the other hand are seeing it more clearly. you have to take the cream. you said it yourself the risks of Atrophy are for long term high percentage stuff except a few outlier cases. and the fact that you are otoh not concerned about the outlier outcomes for the elidel stuff shows to all of us explicitly that your critical faculties are out the groove mate.

you\'ve got to take a leap of faith with this one. the docs know, we know, Thinksitstime knows. YOu know too. start taking it mate.

I have seen Lemperle Gelman and Alter. Alter did the corrective surgery, it took a year to heal but I had a complete recovery. I Bless him and his remarkable team each day. Let me know if you need any help. There are high quality surgeons in socal who are willing to work on these types of cases. Dont lose hope, be persistent with self care and reaching out, it will take time, money, and humility but you will get out the other side of this journey healthy and pain free.

What corrective surgery did you have and why?
What did you see Lemperle about?
Thanks.

the implant was too big in one section and stuck to my skin (very painful). Alter excised the material that was not needed and the pain went away after it completely healed. No problems since then and this was quite a few years ago. I did not want to try the steroids, so opted for surgery instead. no regrets.

By implant you mean PMMA?

Hi Smalljay,

I get people to use steroid creams all the time. Atrophy/telecgantasia(blood vessels)/loss of pigment etc are possible - like getting hit by a car crossing the road - but no the norm. It usually takes potent steroid over a long time to get problems. And usually gradual. Inject steroid is more of a risk - but i still do that almost every day.

Hope to hear some good new next post. Just hang in there.
