complication post pmma round 2 - open lesion with possible pmma material surfacing need advice... 9 years 10 months ago #1283181524

Thanks hoddle that\'s reassuring. Yesterday Dr C said to try to put some tissue over it at night to absorb the oozing liquid (which in my case is refusing to form that crust as described in the one of the links you sent...), but tissue wasn\'t really particle as it did not stay in place so tonight I\'m going to try the breathing absorbing bandage that michael suggested earlier on this thread instead. One thing I received conflicting advice about was re moisturizing the area - the local Dermatologist here and Dr Solomon both said it is important to keep the area moist with cream twice a day, while Dr C said to keep it absolutely dry (in line with some advice I got here) so that is what I\'ve been doing so far and what I plan to follow. The other thing is that since I have not been stretching for a week and having taken ibuprofen very early on, there is no swelling so it doesn\'t look like there is a lot of extra Girth compared to before round 2 (2.5 weeks ago). Hopefully this will be more evident in the upcoming weeks (in my previous round it went from swelling to implant so I don\'t remember it \'shrinking\' that much in between...).

Hi everyone,

I wanted to send a positive update for a change - the scar seems to be closing up - the lesion on the right is totally gone and the deeper one on the left is almost completely closed as well. What seemed to have helped a lot was something prescribed locally by the Dermatologist I saw here and endorsed by Dr C - Eosin 2% (similar to Betadine in its disinfectant quality only it much more powerful in drying up wounds and burns). It\'s really a type of red dye so it\'s a bit hard to tell from the attached photo. Anyway, I\'m confident this issue will be resolved in a few days.

In terms of Girth, that has been on the descent since the PMMA procedure (I initially gained 3/4\" and that is almost totally gone by now). I am assuming it is related to the fact that I took ibuprofen very early on, which brought the swelling down, and then I have not stretched at all for 1.5 weeks, which caused whatever swelling that remain to disappear too. I am attaching a post op photo and one from now.

It is 3 weeks post the procedure now and the only place I can see any kind of gain is one area on the base of the left side where there was a total dent in in PMMA in the first round. Anywhere where PMMA was placed on top of the old implant, it has not developed as of yet. Does it make sense that I am not seeing any gains at this point? I hope for some real growth in the next few weeks...

Thanks again!
