TOPIC: Circumcision after PMMA

Circumcision after PMMA 12 years 1 week ago #1272991503

Following my second round of PMMA I needed to have a Circumcision as my Foreskin could no longer retract. I didn\'t really want a Circumcision but at the same time I knew it needed to be done as not being able to retract my Foreskin was going to cause an issue for having sex. Has Has anybody else had to do the same? I specifically asked the surgeon to retain as much Foreskin as possible as I said I I still wanted the look of an uncircumcised penis when Flaccid. Unfortunately he took more than I was expecting and right now I have a relatively thick PMMA filled shaft with a very small glans poking out. Not a nice look I can assure you. It\'s very dramatic from what I had and I have no idea what to expect going forward, firstly because I\'ve obviously not had a circ before, and second as I don\'t know anybody who\'s had one after PMMA. Anybody able to offer any insight as to the healing process and how this might affect my PMMA etc?

I doubt you needed a Circumcision for Phimosis. The reason many surgeons wont fo FFT on uncircumcised penis\'s is because the swelling in the Foreskin can take months to go.

Why did you have a circ so soon after PMMA?

I\'d always had issues with my Foreskin being tight. I\'d had a preputioplasty years ago which had just about loosened it enough but with the extra Girth from PMMA it was just too tight to retract.

I was never a fan of circ. But I should have done it prior to my enlargement surgery (Elist implant). It may have been the cause of my infection and if not, it may have allowed it to spread. Many PE doctors REQUIRE you to be circ before they perform the operation and I think this is a good idea. After Girth enhancement many men will NOT be able to retract their Foreskin for proper hygiene. I had to use a syringe (sans needle, of course!) with soapy water and again with a water/vinegar mixture to shoot up my Foreskin to clean the area. And guess what? I still got a big infection that screwed me for several months.

Unfortunately for those that like Foreskin, it\'s simply not compatible with most PE surgery. Much better to have it removed and go from there. I hated having it done but am much better off for it. I\'ll post my experiences soon. I hope a few people can learn something from them.

Take care and all the best,

MHN

But you only had PMMA less than a month ago. There was almost certainly swelling still left and we know PMMA responds well to Kenalog. The skin itself could surely have been stretched with steroid cream also. I\'m not criticising you, but I\'m amazed a Urologist performed a circ so soon especially when you have an injectable that causes collagen growth, which will change for upto 6 months! Did he know what PMMA was or talk about the non surgical options?

I didn\'t tell him. I was too embarrassed. Please don\'t criticise me as I\'m in a bad way emotionally. I need to just let these heal and see where I am. I feel so awful and stupid right now. I just wanted to fix everything do I could get on with my life.

Surely dr c does the same thing whether a penis is cut or not? My PMMA procedure was no different than anybody else\'s here because of my Foreskin? Once all my current swelling goes down I\'m just going to look the same as other cut guys on here?

Hey Pr,

I agree with Hoddle - i am uncut, had my round 2 one month ago, and retraction was difficult (and a little painful) until very recently : things may take more time to settle than when you are Circumcised. However, I think I won\'t be able to retract the Foreskin entirely, which isn\'t convenient for cleaning.

Now that you had the operation, i think the best thing to do is to ask the doctor who did the PMMA injection about it and wait. Things will probably settle when swelling subsides totally.

Take care!

Thanks capital. I\'ve emailed wade to see if there\'s anything I need to pay special attention too. You guys are right that I should have let things settle for longer but I\'d had a preputioplasty before to loosen my Foreskin and some of the PMMA had got in and formed a hard lump. I just felt like I had to do something. I\'ll keep you posted on my progress.

@pr2005, @capital
Did you experience issues with retraction after your first round or did it only start after your second session?

In my case it is hard to retract beyond my Glans so cleaning becomes a bit more difficult and requires more time. It has gotten easier pass the 5 week mark.

After my first round retraction was harder not because my Foreskin was tighter, but just because I had a lot more flesh. In the same way the PMMA \'thickened\' the skin of my shaft it also did it with my Foreskin to a degree so created the impression there was a lot more Foreskin. After my first round i was conscious I would benefit from a circ. I\'d had a tight ring in my Foreskin that had been cut years ago and i suspect maybe that created an issue in a simialr way a circ scar does for others. I just wanted a partial circ though to keep the majority of my Foreskin but remove the excess flappy look. The surgeon has taken more than I wanted but I\'ll see what it looks like in a few months once everything has settled down. I\'m sure aesthetically my penis can be where I want it to be at the end of this journey.

@pr2005
Please don\'t consider \"concern\" as some form of negative criticism. Advice & inquiries by members & moderators are usually in our best interest.
It would be wise to inform your doctor of your PMMA, most especially if they are performing work on your penis. The minor embarrassment is worth preventing any unforeseen complications that may arise from a lack of info.
That all being said, we really do appreciate you sharing your journey with us. For many, it can definitely be both physical (recovery) and emotional.

I am amazed that your Urologist couldn\'t figure it out you\'d had PMMA or that something was askew, lumps and all.

I am also curious about this, the Doctor surely would have noticed something when making incisions? It wouldnt have been the most straightforward procedure and potentially could have been very confusing for the doctor when faced with some unexpected materials.
PR2005, how is the healing process coming along for you? My circ was a lifetime ago but I do remember that there was a long adjustment period while the glans desentistises to constant contact with clothing etc. do you feel more relaxed about your situation now that it is done? I hope that you have a speedy recovery and find yourself in a better, more relaxed state now that this has been done.

Thanks for the concern guys. The surgeon said he noticed swelling, which for me was obviously the PMMA.I don\'t like the look of my Flaccid penis right now as it\'s such a change, but there will be swelling etc right now that needs to calm down etc. It doesn\'t look so bad when Erect so I\'m a little more relaxed about my situation but I have a very long way to go before I feel comfortable with myself and I realise that.At this stage i can\'t help but wish I\'d never started the PMMA journey and everything that has gone with it. Again hopefully through time when I\'m fully recovered and things look normal again I will not be saying that.
