TOPIC: Whitesnakeguy's Continued Nightmare

Whitesnakeguy's Continued Nightmare 12 years 5 months ago #1271092971

If anyone has any information on a great reconstruction surgeon, I would deeply be greatful to get some names other than Dr. Alter. I know it\'s nice to hear about patients having great experiences and people respond more to posts with a positive outcome, but there are some of us that are unable to get on with our lives due to not being able to find an excellent reconstructive surgeon. If anyone has had any postive reconstructive surgeries that were difficult cases and involved risk of nerve damage or sexual function, please post your story or tell of a great surgeon who has pictures of his work. Your help would be very appreciated. Thank you,Whitesnakeguy

@ whitesnakeguy It would help if you listed your problems perhaps what has caused this. Also I have only herad good thing about DR Alter so would have recommended him so it would also be helpful to get at least a vague idea why you dont want to use him. Good luck.

I am not a raging fan due to the results from my first surgery, but my recent Alloderm Removal and Belladerm Revision came out nicely (so far). I used Dr. Rosenthal. He has done the most procedures to date and is a Urologist as well.
To be clear the first surgery was fine, but a combination of not being given the information that alloderm could bend or break and that the graft was installed in pieces, and some issues with how the incisions healed were the items I would ascribe to the doctor. I, however, totally contributed to some of the problems I had (not Hanging, wearing super tight underwear and being to demanding on the graft too soon). So it was a shared responsibility. I was mad, then sad, then I got educated again, got clear, and had a good Revision result. Dr. R knows what he is doing, but I would be very clear with what bothers you and ask what he will do. Research what problems others have had and then discuss the issues with him. I think having good patient doctor communication is good and helps ensure optimal results.
Do not expect Dr. R to empathize with you or connect at a deep emotionally supportive level. If you want someone to talk to PM me and I will let you discuss your situation with me. However, if you want a very competent surgeon...for this procedure I think he is as good as it gets. I am posting pics in my alloderm problems Belladerm Revision forum...you can check out the after pics there.

I never received a response from Dr. Egydio. He is extraordinarily busy though and sometimes can take quite a while to answer questions not posed by existing patients. I assume that Dr. Alter was unable to help you? Perhaps Dr. Rosenthal can. He does have a great deal of experience with Bella/Allo and is a board certified URO. Best of luck sir.

I realized today that one of the 3 nodules I have left over from my failed horror surgery has completely detached from my penis underneath the skin. In a way I guess it is a good thing because it will probably be more easier for a surgeon to remove, but now the Nodule hurts like hell when touched. The way I see it, I will have to get all three nodules removed, as much of the scar tissue at the base removed as possible, the pubic scar revised, and some kind of glanular enhancement if I am ever going to even have a shot at having a sex life again.

If you are interested in finding information out or have any questions about my surgery please feel free to pm me, but please don\'t assume that because a patient doesn\'t go to a certain surgeon that he has something against that surgeon. This is a after all a patient support forum for patients and the only place some of us can go after we have had a bad surgery.
