I thought I would start a thread for my experience using the grip system. I am considering getting PMMA (would like to be .5\" thicker), but I first wanted to see if I could gain any additional length before going that route. That is why I decided to try this out.

For those that do not know, the grip is recommended by doctors for use after lengthing surgery to help realize gains. I have not had lengthening surgery, but it is supposed to increase your length regardless. I guess it is supposed to make it easier if you get the ligs cut first.

Now, according to the website and from speaking on the phone with them, by using their system for six months, they say you will gain at least 1\" in Erect length in six months. Actually, the man I spoke with on the phone said that if you are very persistant and consistant with the system, this increase could easily be seen in four months. Got my fingers crossed.

So, here are my starting stats:
Flaccid Length - between 5-6\"
Flaccid Girth - 4.5\"
Erect Length - 7\"
Erect Girth (midshaft) - 5.75\"

I began using the grip on 7/23. I have to say that it is a lot more comfortable than I thought it would be. It is actually kind of addictive, which I think is a good thing. I say that because from what I have read, if you expect to gain anything from Hanging you have to hang for a minimum of 10 hours a week. They also suggest you use the other parts of the system, which basically provide a light tension, for an additional 6-8 hours a day!

I have kept a log of use including weight and time using the other parts of the system. I have managed to stay above the 10 hours needed and the additional 6 hours suggested.

There is a pulley system that provides one pound of tension. They said that some guys choose to sleep with this because it keeps the slight tension throughout the night. I am not exactly sold on this. I did try it a couple of times, but with noturnal erections, I do not see how it is possible to do... for me anyway.

When I spoke with them on the phone, he suggested measuring on a weekly basis. I think I am going to measure on a monthly basis instead. I am throwing the extra week from July into August so the first measurement after starting this will be at the end of August.

My goal for this is to gain a minimum of 1\" Erect (they told me that with a years use I could very easily gain 2\" Erect) and as much as I can Flaccid. I think it would be great to have my Flaccid length bumping right up to my Erect length. Only time will tell.

I would ratched down your expectations of gains, and at the same time it will work! I\'m about 9 months post op and have gained 3/4 of an Inch in length Erect, and I hang 1 hour per day. I did use the all day Hanger for a bit (5-6 hours on average) but I\'m not sure how much it added. I stopped because it was compressing my graft. If gain is in fact a function of time Hanging, then more time (and weight) will yield greater gains. However, I think it is more complex than that, considering the adaptive nature of the human body.

Would using The Grip be good as s compliment to the AutoVAC extender or are they mutually exclusive? How does it work and what is its advantage? Thanks as this will help decide to either stick with the other brand or switch to The Grip.

I have never tried the AutoVac extender, but I assume they work in very similar ways. I do not see any reason why they would be mutually exclusive. The difference is that the grip was designed mainly for Hanging weights and can be used as an all day stretcher (with use of a leg strap). I bet the Autovac could be just as useful.

I think that Soma is right in that gains are a function of time x stress so if you are able to commit enough time to the Autovac I do not see why it wouldn\'t work for you. But like I said, they should not be mutually exclusive. However, if you are comfortable with what you already have, I might not shell out the extra dough for another system until I know that the first is not producing the gains. Just my $.02

@briceb
Thanks for the advice. I\'ve been shelling out many thousands on all sorts of PE and general physical reconditioning this year so the price of such a device is a drop in the bucket in comparison, so I wanted to gear up for whichever is surer of producing results with that far rarer resource, the precious hours spent dangling about a stretcher.

hey brice. how did things go with this? I\'m currently debating between the autoextender and the grip. I\'m mainly intrested in Hanging weights. I think the grip might be the way to go, but the vacads is so much cheaper.

I currently use the muzzle set up from thunders place which cost around 15 bucks to make. Could easily hang 20lbs with that but am only up to 8 lbs right now. However it takes time to put on and can\'t double as an ads which the vacads and grip can.

I\'m interested in Hanging. Was considering the bib starter. Is that a good choice or are there better options now?

hmmm, that\'s a bummer because I put in an order just yesterday for the economy package. Do you need the weights for Hanging or for ads? I\'m sure you can figure out how to get extra weight on to hang with. get an elastic tie down bungee cord from home depot or lowes and by some $5 weights from walmart. It\'s what I use with my muzzle Hanger. If it\'s for adsing though, you might have to be more creative.

Yard,

I continue to struggle with the customer service at the \"grip\" headquarters, even now dealing with replacement parts. I just keep on them, as frustrating as it can be.
