Well I goofed hard and forgot my passport. Not sure where my head was at but I was rushing to get to the airport and forgot it.

I got into Mexico with a warning to bring it next time by a cute border control lady. So walking across they now want to see passports at the San Ysidora crossing.

I have a feeling that the ole\' USA border control is going to be very different.

Has anybody got back into the USA without their passport? I have my drivers licence, tons of cards with my name, even a picture of my passport I had a family member send. I was going to print it out on paper just for more documentation.

I leave Thursday and I\'m pretty stressed..

Any thoughts?

I got back into US without my passport twice at San Ysidro. Once the guy was kind of rude and asked me a bunch of pointless questions then ultimately let me go, the other time the guy was very polite and just asked if I could show him my license and whatever else I had and let me go without a bunch of hassle.

if have know how has a key to your place they can send it to you thru same day delivery. if you don\'t want them to know your leaving the country then tell them something happened to your wallet and you lost all forms of ID and you need it to return. sorry for your plight it was a mistake that anyone could have make given the amount of stress from making a life decision. hope things workout for you and happy gains

Well that was easier than I thought. Now I\'m at the airport 6 hours early. I would have lounged in my hotel to kill time but I thought I might get interrogated for hours or something so I left Tijuana early. The guy just asked for my id and asked a few questions and I was on my way in 3 minutes. No bag scan, search, or anything. Round 5 in the books.

I\'ve always used my drivers license and birth certificate. I finally ordered my passport but not sure if it will be here for round 4 at the end of February. Worst one I had was he asked me why I didn\'t have my passport and I honestly answered up until then I didn\'t need one. He said ok and let me go. Longest delay was maybe 3-4 min.
