TOPIC: MRI & PMMA (with MRI of post-PMMA Penis)

MRI & PMMA (with MRI of post-PMMA Penis) 8 years 9 months ago #1290209863

I know PMMA is safe for an MRI, but what I don\'t know is how pure Linnea Safe or Metacrill are. I can only assume that if there were metallic particles in there, i\'d know by now from some kind of reaction (as would others) - though who knows. The slides I posted didn\'t have anything but PMMA and immune cells, so I can only assume it\'s fine... BUT

I\'d rather just hear from at least 1 person who had one after PMMA.

The MRI has nothing to do with my penis. But laying in there, anything metallic in your body could cause a disaster.

The thought, I just cringed. This won\'t be an issue, there should be absolutely zero metal in it.

Yeah I edited out my description of what would happen right after I posted. I searched the board for other mri threads but those mostly talked about if it\'s detectable.

Well my MRI was not of the penis, but I couldn\'t help myself. So, enjoy.

Note that my penis was taped down, pointing upward - so some of this is like \"pancaked\" out. Those of you who have been following my posts know I got a lot of PMMA removed from 1 side, but the other side wasn\'t touched except for Kenalog and 5fu. Guess which side is which.

The glans is on top, here. The natural penis is in the middle.. with a black border...all the other stuff isn\'t PMMA fibrosis because the natural penis has some skin and Dartos fascia too - it\'s just hard to see \"exactly\" where it is. On the right side in the image (left side in any pic I post) - all the PMMA nodules are more visible. The thinnest area (divot at the top left) has zero PMMA - it\'s purely skin, so that \"thickening\" there is all natural tissue being squished by tape. This is the Flaccid state.

The right side still has the remaining nodules (left side in real life). The touch up was done to this side... I\'ll draw some arrows later.

You can see a divot on the left where I had the major Removal after the open wound.

I wish the MRI could show more detail.. this was a little bit of a let down. It just looks like a regular picture of my penis if I smushed it down with tape...except the inside is showing... I thought it would show the isolated nodules and stuff. Maybe it can\'t since they aren\'t calcified. I have to ask a radiologist - will update this after I can get a copy of the report (they\'re going to do one even though it isn\'t official.)

I wasn\'t even worried about my Dick. I had another thing altogether - and they were slightly annoyed by this add-on, but I really hoped it would reveal something more. I guess a 3D CT would be more descriptive, but there\'s no point really. I thought maybe there was more going on than I could feel or something.

Yeah, that\'s one of them. I circled the hard nodules in blue and showed where the Radiesse touch-up went in green. The two nodules that were removed were considered bundles of \"fibroconnective tissue\" with PMMA inside. The white stuff is collagen, since PMMA is clear.

As I looked closer, I could see more - but it turns out this is just academic. There\'s no useful information really. I can\'t even see my peyronie\'s plications or anything...though a radiologist might see them. I don\'t really know. We didn\'t do the whole Pelvic series.

Here\'s a normal pic of my penis - reversed - so it matches the MRI. You can sort of line up the nodules, though both images are 2 weeks after the Radiesse camouflage session (I did locally).

I wonder if the Radiesse is showing up so white because it\'s calcium based? Probably not...it\'s starting to slowly fade now that it\'s 2 weeks... but still not as bad as before.

I can\'t believe no-one has posted on this thread.

I\'m fascinated to see what a PMMA penis looks like on an MRI. Actually it looks less scary than I imagined. Rightly or wrongly I feel kind of reassured to see that the millions of plastic Balls are neatly arranged in their own little space, separate from all the important internal bits. (Excuse poor terminology, I don\'t work in medical field)

Yeah, I thought it was pretty cool... but I guess it just seems academic. I was really hoping it would have shown more. Ultrasounds show the penile structure very well. You can see the borders of everything, but my uro wouldn\'t do one. I was there for something else primarily.

Here\'s another penile MRI with a PMMA patient. It seems that mine was done with contrast or a stronger magnet...not sure. I think I will hear from the radiologist soon...not sure w/ the holidays

Wow. That link is pretty gruesome, Restoration.

Oh... yeah that didn\'t end up too great in his case. I just added a note. They really went in, what seems like overkill, to take his PMMA out. I think I got immune to these pics after the gross stuff I have seen (and posted, at times).
