TOPIC: Question for guys who have had de-gloving incisions

Question for guys who have had de-gloving incisions 10 years 8 months ago #1278781483

When does the scar fade to the point that someone won\'t notice it? Even with oral sex? Have you had any complications?

I have to get peyronie\'s surgery which is going to require a de-gloving incision before I do anything with PMMA. I had a hard time asking my doc when the scar is \"faded enough for oral sex\" - since he already answered that it\'s \"fine after 4-6 weeks\"... but I am single...so, \"fine\" is still different than \"not noticeable.\"

Thank you.

Depends on the skill of the surgeon. In my case, Dr. Paulo Egydio closed like a plastic surgeon and my scar has never been noticed. It\'s in an area that doesn\'t get viewed much either. I\'d be more concerned about the curvature correction and the method used.

Thanks Miracle - with your doc, would you say it took the typical 3 months (to disappear) - or is that area faster to heal?

Facial surgery scars usually heal quite well & quickly vs. scars on the back or chest. I just have no idea how penile skin responds to this kind of thing. I\'ve seen some awful circumcision scars that scared the hell out of me ( www.circumcisioncenter.com/patient18.htm ) - but my surgeon is a top uro - so I think he\'ll do a good job. I just don\'t know about how my body will react.

How long did you wait between surgery and PMMA?

I waited a period of 6 months. That is the minimum you should wait. I would say it took a good 3 months for the scar to become virtually undetectable (still pinkish). Due to erections (which are necessary after curvature correction) placing stress on the Sutures, it takes the Circumcision area a while to heal completely despite being an area of superior vascularity/blood supply. If your doc is a top Urologist, I wouldn\'t worry too much. You will be fine. Having a straight penis will do wonders for your self-esteem and alleviate much of the depression Peyronie\'s causes. Please keep me informed of your progress. You are in my prayers and I wish you the best outcome.

M8

Thanks so much for your help & good wishes. I appreciate it & want to be in your position one day! It\'s so hard for people to relate to the PD depression, but I really appreciate that you can.

My doc strongly wants me to use traction after plication because he says I will lose size if I don\'t. He did a study where men who used traction after plication sometimes even gained size. But, those who did not often lost size. So, I\'m guessing that\'s going to stress out the scar even more... I am going to have to ask him about that because it doesn\'t make sense to use traction right above a scar. I have the old FastSize device - with the \"noose\" thing... I suppose there are better ADSs out there though.

Dr. C\'s assistant said I only need to wait 6 weeks to get PMMA after plication... I\'m wondering if that is too short now. I just want it all over with so badly...but I don\'t want to do anything stupid. I am having plication, not grafting - so it\'s less invasive - but there is still degloving.

You need to wait at least 2 months brother. Better safe than sorry. I know all about the plication/Nesbit procedure. I recommend the ESL40 for post operative traction. It won\'t place undue duress on your incision and will still provide the stress necessary to facilitate preservation of length or perhaps an increase. Make sure to keep it clean. Listen to your body. At least your doc is being honest with you. You WILL lose length. I hope that you gain it back and then some. Remember, its a marathon, not a sprint.

Did you lose a lot of length? I know I will lose some - since they are literally cutting out a piece of tissue at the base and stitching it back...so bye bye even more length! ugh.

I will check out that device...I haven\'t seen that before. What\'s your take on this phallosan thing? It looks almost comfortable...but I don\'t get how the condom thing doesn\'t fall off...

I read your story before but now I forgot if you had a lig cut or if you just got the length back through exercises / traction? I just discovered your huge thread in the bottom from 2011 about PD...damn why didn\'t I see that before? We took a LOT of the same supplements and researched all of the same crap...it\'s kind of funny. I mean, the fact I knew what TGF beta was & how pentox worked and everything else... just crazy - and more than 90% of uros with their \"vitamin E\" cure. I could seriously give have given a lecture at the academy of urologists conference.
