TOPIC: Newbie, what is a Nodule?

Newbie, what is a Nodule? 2 days 8 hours ago #1308721058

Hi all, I just joined here and made a post already yesterday.

However, I’m very uneducated about all this and I’m wondering what’s exactly is a Nodule?

I have areas where filler gathered and a couple little harder bumps, inside not visible at the top of my base.

The main area where filler gathered was right before my head underneath and was told that was normal. I had 2 injections back in 2015. Never any issues til recent when I was diagnosed with prostatits. I think the inflammation from that could perhaps be messing with the filler causing discomfort at times.

I can go weeks with no symptoms and feel basically normal but then I feel if I get stressed out, I’ll get some discomfort. Then it usually resides after a few days or a week.

I guess I’m wondering if the areas where the gathered is considered a Nodule?

And if it is, do they need to be removed? Can I take some anti inflammatorys? Or I was even thinking of using a castor oil pack for inflammation. I can’t say for its inflamed but I do get discomfort at times. From looking at it, the skin looks fine. I do have more veins showing I think.

Nodules are generally the accumulation of filler and/or bodily fluids that coalesce near the surface of the skin for any number of reasons (most often attributed to poor post-op massaging of your shaft to knead out any sort of clumping of filler and fluids). They can be as small as a tiny grain of sand and as large as a "bb pellet." They are not dangerous and mostly considered an aesthetic nuisance. They can be removed through a number of non-surgical means, including punch-excision.

They are not to be mistaken with foreign born granulomas (FBGs) which are notable inflammatory responses that tend to be larger, harder, and (potentially) require treatment beyond "aesthetic correction." These are also relatively rare, whereas nodules are relatively common.

To be frank, nodules happen quite often because fillers, no matter how skilled injector, can sometimes lead to nodules regardless. This is why subsequent (2nd Round) appointments are almost always inevitable, and to plan your injection journey with at least 2 (if not 3) appointments in mind -- for both Girth & aesthetic Revision.

4 weeks post PMMA and have some nodules in the circ scar area towards the side. I’m actively messaging. Hopefully they will go away with time. Opinion and other suggestions to alleviate is appreciated.

Thank you. I lve also been in contact with Dr.Carney’s assistant and he explained it yesterday to me on the phone.

I think I might be being over paranoid.

Like my other posts stated, I do have prostatitis and after talking with Dr.Carney’s assistant, that seems to be my main issue.

I’ve always had some areas that accumulated filler and it’s always been a little uneven since day1. But recently I’ve had pain. But the pain comes and goes. I think mainly with stress. But I could be in pain one day and the next, just fine.

I wasn’t sure if a Nodule was bad, or infection, or what but now I know. Mine are all soft. I do have a few smaller bumps that are a little harder, not visible, I only notice when I press.
