My question is I have what feels like a rubbery sensation in my penis. It’s not as sensitive. I have to work much harder to get or maintain erections. Is this due to nerve endings and blood vessels not having caught up to new tissue? Is it still the carrier/filler I’m feeling so that’s why I don’t have a lot of sensation? Does it get better over time? I can’t imagine I’ve grown much new tissue so quickly but I don’t know exactly how all this works. For those who have done at least one round of PMMA or any docs who would like to chime in, I’d love to hear your thoughts. Thanks!
You're a week out, you're still very fresh off the operating table! Furthermore, your
PMMA (
Bellafill) uses a
bovine carrier which takes a bit more time for your body to metabolize/break down. Many of the reports you may have found here uses the Linnea Safe
PMMA (whose carrier dissipates in days), which is why you might find your experience not nearly as identical (
Bellafill has only recently trended, my only assumption is that the prices have become more manageable; when it first came out it was easily the most expensive filler on the market, so men opted to travel abroad instead).
Not only is your body working to breakdown the bovine carrier, but it is also in the early stages of creating new collagen tissue. It isn't unusual to have temporary erectile issues very fresh off a procedure -- for me, I remember thinking in the first 3 to 4 days there was no chance in hell I would manage an
Erection, not even a semi-chub! Your penis was poked, prodded, and filled with foreign substance for an hour, so sometimes it just wants to recover. Sure enough for me, after about a week or two things were back to normal. You really won't see the final result until 6-8 weeks out (possibly longer due to the bovine).
What you described is sort of right. Your body not only has to breakdown the carrier as mentioned previously, but with it will come collagen deposition, a sort of
integrating with your shaft's dermis (i.e. skin).
Nothing you've described sounds alarming and I would just remain patient, ensure all entry points are FULLY healed, and avoid strenuous or sexual activity for as long as the Doctor prescribed. Good luck!
