Like I recommended in our PM exchange, your best bet would be to heal & recover before pursuing any new work.

Removal to assist in what sometimes can be inevitable length loss (depending case-to-case I'm sure); this loss can be reversed with a post-op stretching regimen that the Doctor will advise. This explains my sentiment regarding waiting out any additional work (especially to
Girth) until you're in the clear.
