TOPIC: Nd:YAG 1064nm Laser Hair Removal After PMMA (Avanti Derma) — Safe?

Hey everyone,

I’m hoping to get some advice from anyone who has experience with this.

I’ve had three rounds of PMMA permanent filler treatments at Avanti Derma, spaced over time. It’s been a while since the last session, and everything has settled well.

Now I’m considering laser hair Removal, and the clinic I’m speaking with uses the Candela GentleMax Pro with the 1064 nm Nd:YAG laser. I know it penetrates pretty deep, and I’m a bit concerned about whether it could potentially interfere with or affect the PMMA filler areas.

Has anyone here had Nd:YAG laser hair Removal after PMMA, especially in areas where filler was injected (e.g., jawline, cheeks, etc.)?

Would really appreciate hearing any experiences, warnings, or reassurance before I go ahead with it.

A quick search and I found the following for reference in case others were wondering what your terminology meant:

Laser Hair Removal Wavelengths:

• Alexandrite (755nm): Shallow-to-mid dermis (best for light-to-medium skin).
• Diode (810nm): Mid-dermis (works for most skin types).
• Nd:YAG (1064nm): Deeper penetration (safe for dark skin or coarse hair).

I have had multiple laser hair Removal treatments over the last several years since having Bellafill. Both with Alex and YAG lasers. No issues at all.
