In 2019, after suffering from infection and
Necrosis, I had all of the skin removed down to Bucks fascia, and then split thickness skin grafts were applied. The surgeon corrected the penoscrotal webbing, but left the silicone in my scrotum. I lost a few inches in penile length, and In the years since my penile reconstruction I have been obsessively trying to regain lost inches using stretching and chemical PE (PGE1) with some slow but steady success. In just the past 1-2 years though, my scrotum, which still contained some silicone that Dr. C injected in two separate rounds years ago has been growing again at a noticeable pace. I previously got 100 ml injected, in two 50 ml rounds, the last one in 2018. Now my scrotum looks like it has over 500 ml in it, judging from men who show pictures of 500 to 600 cc of silicone injected in their scrotum. There is no pain, but there is a lot of itching as layers of skin are shed and regrown at a fast pace. I think that if scrotal skin wasn't so fast growing and fast healing that I would have had the skin break down already as it did on the penile shaft years ago from the small amount of silicone injected there in the so-called "smooth finish." Of course I'm worried about cancer, but I'm also worried it will just keep growing uncontrollably. Obviously, a scan and manual examination of my scrotum will find lumps in it. But I've had lumps from the encapsulated silicone for years. I plan to get blood testing done, and very likely have a biopsy of the tissue to check for cancer. Even if it is a non-cancerous "tumor", I still don't want to grow a water melon in my pants. Admitting there's a problem is the first step. But I likely will be back in the OR for at least one more surgery due to my legacy of silicone.
Has anyone on this board had similar problems with past silicone injections? Do you know of any research papers describing similar cases?
