Long story short, I had some "trauma" occur to my penis when I was younger via pinching / friction...and it caused scarring / discoloration....both on the head and on the shaft...along with that I have several other dark spots / micro tears....

Is there any way to spot lighten these areas so I can achieve a more uniform look? Tired of having all these dark spots all over...

Honestly, your best bet would be to look up dermatology sources or forums. What works on other areas of the skin will most likely work on the shaft skin.

Maybe others with a similar situation can chime in.

It wouldn't hurt typing in discoloration into the SEARCH tab here or over at the PhalloBoards 2.0 .

yes, there are a few things that you can do. But i would do research first on pros and cons as well as possibly consult with someone for info on how to use. I do not want to give my opinions on this as i do not want to assume what worked for me will work for you and cause skin irritation. But, here are some things to look into.

hydroquinone is depigmenting agent that is commonly used.
Tretinoin is a Vit A derivitive that is commonly used with acne - it helps to peel a few layers and resurface skin.
Kojic acid is another commonly used in many bleaching creams.

Thank you I will research those and likely visit a dermotologist or specialist soon to get their input...

I know each person varies, but would you mind sharing your specific results with one or all of those options you mentioned?

Yes those are all common treatments. In addition, amlactim cream and eurea cream are sometimes prescribed when tretimoin has been too harsh. Amlactin, eurea and kojic acid are all over the counter and quite gentle. I have used kogic acid cream and soap, and they work - they make the genital area including penis lighter and the color more even, but they take several weeks to work.

If you want something prescription grade, definitely visit a Dermatologist first. The penis skin is thin and sensitive so you need a specialist to determine the right concentration or combination of treatments. Remember, you only have one penis… so be careful what you put on it!!

New member here.

I've started using Musley online dermatologist meds. They have a specific formula for genitals.

I've been using it for 2 months for darkened scrotum, shaft, in grown hair scars, etc. Working great.

If i can, here's a referral code that gets us both a discount.

Without seeing a photo, it sounds like what you have is PIH or Post Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation. Is is abnormal discoloration that your body forms from excessive friction or any trauma to the skin or post acne breakout. Topicals have limited effectiveness due to variable penetration of the ingredients into the dermis of the skin. You can try the products another user mentioned from Musely. The do have excellent well known lightening ingredients but again the issue is getting those ingredients into the deeper layers of the skin to effectively reduce pigmentation. It also may take several months for you to see an improvement. You can also use a Pico laser which is very safe and effective in treating PIH with no downtime. The laser energy goes directly to that layer of the dermis that houses the melanocytes which are the cells that produce pigment.

Also those topical ingredients should NOT be used on the glans due to severe incompatability and irritation. The pico laser can be used on the glans as we have used it on the mouth lips which has the same type of skin (mucous membrane).

Hope this helps.
