I do understand your point I think using an extender which does not compress the pmma and the new collagen does not do any harm (actually it is advised by some brazilian doctors in the 1st 7-10 days).
But in regard of not using a pump in the 1st 6wks, it could be the negative pressure will affect the mechanism of granulation formation and encapsulation of the beads and the end result of the new collagen formation.
Btw some doctors advise no sex before 6 wks.
If I want to use something I will use only a penile extender in the early stage after PMMA injection.
But of course the best thing is to listen only to your treating doctor.

A to Q. 2
1) I had alloderm in (2007) I was happy for few months but after around 10 months most of the graft was resorbed and I was so upset (it was a waste of time and money in my case and I know some guys may have great results but nobody knows for how long the graft will stay) but thank god I had no complication from the alloderm and I didn\'t want to have another alloderm graft because of many reasons (high risk of infection in the second graft, scar formation with the possibilty of severe penile retraction, again the possibility of resorption of the second graft, under general anesthesia and also the high cost of the procedure).
2) PMMA in (2008+2009) without any complications and the new penile girth I have is still the same as after the last injection in 2009, and around 80% of the new girth is your own body tissues (new collagen) also it feels like your own muscle tissues surrounding the rest 20% which consists of very small beads and you cannot feel these beads.
But I would recommend (I have mentioned that many times before) anybody who had penile allograft before (e.g. alloderm or belladerm or DFG) he should have an antibiotic one shot before the procedure and an oral antibiotic afterwards. Because there is a risk of severe infection of the old graft from introducing the micro-cannula in the penis and the possibility of bacteria entering the area.
Also you should avoid water coming near to the entry holes until they are completely healed.
It is very important to be on the safe side esp. for guys who had previous penile girth surgeries.

In regard of using a pump, you could use it (I did use it few times) but if the aim is only to increase your girth dont do it just go for more PMMA.You should use it 6 wks after the PMMA.

Removing alloderm alone due to any reason from the penis as we know will be difficult and I am sure it will more difficult for the surgeon if he decide to remove the alloderm and pmma ( and I don\'t think it will be easy for him to remove only the alloderm without pmma and anyway if there is an infection of the alloderm the new collagen around the beads will be also involved and they have to be removed together).

I was more confident after my PMMA than before, I had never that feeling before, and if you don\'t want it to be obtuse just don\'t go for a huge girth.
The good thing in PMMA you can have the girth you want and it will stay almost the same for ever.

I have a feeling a compression hanger...sadly the type that works best would not be usable after having PMMA done. I\'m thinking it could tear or \"break\" the PMMA even months later.

Answer to question no 7: Yes, PMMA will not prevent you from using extenders.

Smartman has had PMMA over alloderm.

Ok, I\'m a bit of a wall flower not unlike several others so here are my \'final\' questions to anyone viewing this thread regarding PMMA: Is it noticeable with jeans/work pants on 4 days or longer after the procedure I work in jeans/work pants and occasionally give presentations which make me a focal point. I agree 100% with all of you it is better to wait 6 wks minimum, and it will be much better if you wait much longer till the end of the new collagen formation ( i.e. 3-4 months).

I agree with you on the 10% solution issue. I have my own theories as well. I will discuss with the Dr. and nurse Wade.

That\'s wise of you Zmann. Six weeks is the minimum. In actuality, the entire process can take up to three months although I\'d expect little change after the two month mark. Best wishes on your procedure brother Zmann!

Perhaps discussing/suggesting a higher volume with Dr. Casavantes/RN Wade for your second round is in order. I\'m beginning to draw certain conclusions about collagen induction at 10% concentrations. I\'m keeping a log so please make sure to document your progress! Best wishes my friend.

6 week minimum, that\'s something I think needs to be emphasized more here on the forum. It seems that 6 weeks is some magical number where you must go back, if you have the patience especially now with 10% seeming a little slower I think 8-10 weeks would be a little better. I\'m personally not going back till my 10th week so I\'m certain anything irregular can be worked out.

I would wait a minimum of 6-8 weeks as M7 suggested. I am about six weeks into it now and I feel it is still changing although very very slowly. I was hoping one session would have sufficed, but looks like I will need another one or two if they use 10% solution, so I have decided to wait a couple more months before the 2nd treatment.

How close (in time) can you have the first PMMA session from the second?

I heard that six weeks after is the time when the \'member\' has healed. I guesss one could have second session right then?

While operating a forum like this isn\'t too complicated, the actual responsibility that comes with it should not be underestimated. Anytime someone can make an informed decision on whether or not to pursue phalloplasty, is a time I can feel accomplished when it comes to having been responsible for opening this site (the Old & New PB).
On a side note, I\'ve updated my Progress Report in the respective forum, and will probably wait a bit longer for Round 3 to see if my conservative-ADS program/DHT Therapy may or may not yield some length results.
