About me / background
I’m from Germany. Five years ago I had a PAAG (polyacrylamide gel) filler aka LosDeline injected . I was initially happy, but the clinic later closed and this product is now no longer used/allowed for injection in Europe.

Why surgery
After ~9 months of persistent swelling, firmness, and distortion—likely from migration and foreign-body reaction—I chose surgery at a large German hospital.

What was done
• Full degloving to remove migrated gel and reactive tissue.
Revision Circumcision with a small skin-tightening component (to improve contour/tension).
• Three surgeons (two senior + chief).
• 7 days inpatient with Catheter and full bandage—mentally the hardest week.

Complication & plan
After unwrapping I had patchy skin Necrosis. Two options were discussed:
1. Immediate skin graft, or
2. Conservative approach (chosen): prevent infection, protect the area, let dead skin demarcate and shed naturally, then re-epithelialize.

Current status (~week 4)
• Most eschar has lifted. Where it came off, I have superficial partial-thickness loss (about 2–4 mm deep; think stage 1–2, not full-thickness). It’s granulating and re-epithelializing.
• Still a subcoronal swelling/wulst and a tiny skin bridge/adhesion under the rim; I keep a non-adherent silicone mesh + light gauze as a spacer to prevent sticking.
• Sensation: the dorsal/top of the shaft (where most filler sat) is numb; the ventral/front has sensation; the glans is sensate. My surgeon said this likely reflects nerve fiber injury/traction, with potential regrowth over weeks–months. I’m hopeful it improves.
• At the base there’s a small indentation/firmness—likely swelling/early induration; true tethering will be reassessed once fully closed.
Erection length is currently ~25–30% shorter; the shaft can feel firm even Flaccid. The team expects improvement over 6–12 weeks as swelling and stiffness resolve (this doesn’t feel like classic “hard Flaccid”). Length hopefully improves over months.

What I’m looking for
• If you had filler Removal via degloving, how much length came back—and when?
• Did skin glide (dartos over Buck’s fascia) return on its own, or did you need further procedures (e.g., hydrodissection, steroid/5-FU micro-injections, surgical release with interposition flap)?
• For superficial Necrosis, did the surface level out without grafting?
• Experiences with sensory recovery (dorsal shaft numbness improving over time)?

I’ll post periodic updates so others can compare timelines. Not medical advice—just my course so far.
