TOPIC: HA - Swelling or Filler Migration? Please advise!

HA - Swelling or Filler Migration? Please advise! 4 months 3 weeks ago #1308718182

I just got 10ml of Starfiller HA done yesterday. Right after the procedure it looked very nice and natural.

Today everything looks a lot more bloated. Especially around the underside near the top of my penis. It kind of looks bunched up and fat in a weird way. I’m nervous the filler has migrated? Or is this just normal swelling at it will go back to a nice form?

I attached one photo from yesterday (1 hour after the procedure) and one from today with an arrow indicating the area of concern.

Could anyone weigh in on this? I’m a bit nervous tbh. I can’t reach my doctor since it’s the weekend and I’m going out of town tomorrow so I won’t be able to see him for a while.

Is this just selling? Do I need to massage or do anything? Or has it already migrated and I’m fucked?

Leave it alone. Revisit once you can talk to your doc or its been a couple weeks

That area swelled up for me too... Seen lots of people swell there after big pumping sessions too, it's just a place that fluid likes accumulating...

Mine went away with time, but Ian had suggested making sure I wrap further down to the tip to keep it compressed...

If you've been wearing a sleeve for this procedure's aftercare, I'd maybe try a bandage (wrapping while hard is helpful to prevent wrapping too tight) with some gauze over injection sites , trying to put some constriction there...

Not too tight though, blood flow is important... And I'm not a doctor. Try to contact your doc, they might have a weekend number. Don't worry too much about migration, your HA could be reduced if needed, and that area tends to not accept filler as well

Might be a delayed bodily reaction. I wouldn’t mess with it’s too much till the swelling goes down a bit. Takes a few days.

Hmmm my doctor didn’t do any warping at all. So I don’t have any wraps or have been told to wear any wraps. :/

How long did it take for your swelling to go down? It’s really freaking me out lol

Thanks for the feedback. Yeah I’m just massaging it lightly with the creams the doctor gave me every 3-4 hours and once in a while I just stretch my penis out a bit to elongate it.

That’s really all I’ve been doing.

I had HA fillers done 3 times now. The Dr usually wraps it up after the procedure. The care process is to keep it dry for 2-3 days. When washing, dry it quickly and put some antiseptic cream on the puncture areas. Just normal wound care. Keep the wrap on during the day and at night remove it to allow for night/morning erections. Then re-wrap during the day. You need to stretch the penis while wrapping to help with Flaccid length retention. Generally in my experience this worked for me. It helps keep swelling down and good shape retention.

If your Dr didn’t give you any wraps. Just buy 3M Coban self adhesive bandages. Works well, can be washed a reused 2-3 times and comfortable. They come in several widths. The 3” is a good width to use.

I normally use the wraps for 7-10 days. For HA fillers, migration it is not likely because the fillers are very sticky. Once injected they do stay in place. Some light massaging is helpful to even out. But I noticed the fillers are quite firm and massaging helps to some extent on some firmer spots. I do think HA fillers are very forgiving and if fill volumes are reasonable each session the effect is very good.

Don’t panic and wishing you a speedy recovery!

Major swelling went down a lot after the prednisone, but still puffy, that went mostly away on days 3-6

While it can't be said with 100% certainty from a photo, it does look like textbook swelling considering the picture was taken a day after the procedure. How quickly we swell and how quickly it dissipates varies dramatically person-to-person.

I'm a bit worried if I get the HA procedure that I'd get excess fat and thickness by my head.
If after the procedure I kept under the head wrapped tighter do you think that would help make the HA not bunch up near the head/glans

Hyaluronic Acid (HA) isn't permanent, is somewhat reversible and/or correctable; if you stick to low-to-modest volumes over multiple appointments, you'll likely avoid any excess thickness by the glans. Also make this concern apparent to your Injector so that they are aware. That said, it's hard to guarantee how a filler will pan out since everyone's skin seems to adapt to fillers in varying degrees (the vast majority being positive, assuming you are being injected with quality filler by a quality practitioner).
