Was lig surgery worth it? Satisfied? Unsatisfied? Regretful?

Thanks! I am really digging deep into researching this procedure... well there are many variations and providers. For those interested I\'ve got three quotes so far in August 2012 ($4000 Mexico, $6500 US, and $8700 US)...

Had my 100% of my ligs cut year and a half ago. No regrets.

I do feel that the doctors technique and procedure plays a huge role in your outcome. Any doc can take your money, cut you open, cut your ligs and sew you back up again. Its the doctors with the expereince, the proper technique, good communication, spend the time to explain things and are honest about the expectations that make all the difference.

If you are 6\" plus in length, dont consider the procedure. I had a good experience but results may vary.

I wouldn\'t get too excited about what Dr performed ZX\'s surgery, as even the most competent surgeon will have very mixed results with this surgery. So much is down to individual anatomy and the patients effort with post op regime, that the surgery itself and thus the Dr performing it, isn\'t the key to success. Of course ZX is correct is saying that the surgeon should be experienced, use good technique and explain the limitations of the surgery to the patients, so expectations are realistic. But in my opinion if expectations were realistic, then most wouldn\'t bother to have the surgery. I think Sizemic and Olafspo have gained the most length of our members and neither had surgery.

Completely agree with hoodle. I probably could have gained more from a stretching routine, but to be honest I never had that time in my schedule. It takes dedication for that. Im just now starting a dedicated stretching routine. But realistic to me at the time was either stretch for a year and gain an Inch or more or have an hour surgery and possibly gain an Inch. I gambled and went with surgery and thankfully it worked out. Thats not to say that it does for everyone, the results are unpredictable and mixed.

I\'ve painfully gained over an Inch in a years time but always wondered what I could gain if the lig were cut AND I did my extreme Hanging.

5.2\" BPEL to 6.25\" BPEL
ABOUT 15 months off and on. Still, $4k is a lot money.

I am very glad your results were so good.

I\'ve been reading quite a bit about manual PE - stretching.
From what I gather, the lig must first be stretched before the tunica will be affected.

The first thing that comes to my mind is, why not eliminate that first step by having the lig cut and then proceed with Hanging, all day stretching, etc. Would there be advantages?

Curious to know what the Drs said regarding post surgery stretching.

Thoughts?

Yes. Equipment is included. The day after surgery Salas\'s associate came by with the equipment. Mind you I\'m still on pain pills The associate up sold to me the next size up of cylinders. That was $200. I was given some video files to use as instructions. At that time I was in no shape to fiddle with the equipment. I\'m home now and done with pain pills. I\'ve looked over the equipment and it sees to be missing a fitting necessary to connect the vac pump to the cylinders. It\'s gotta be an oversight and ill let the Drs. Office know. The doctor\'s assistant called me yesterday as I was arriving back home. I\'m confident that any shortage (no pun) will be fixed.

Bigdick1

I am sorry the delay. I forgot I had posted here for some reason. I used a BIB Hanger and worked up to 17lbs a day for 30min. Not much about it was comfortable but it worked. I am again Hanging but gains are extremely slow. StillWantMore points out accurately that some months you may see nothing and some you do but you must keep increasing the weight.

Hope this helps. If it were easy, this entire site might not be needed but that is hardly the case. Determination and dedication or nothing my friend.

Good luck!

Btw...lig cut scheduled for Jan 10th with Dr Camacho
