TOPIC: Scarring on glans from chemical burn

Scarring on glans from chemical burn 6 years 2 weeks ago #1306058716

I apologize ahead of time as this topic does not involve anything related to PE. However, I am a bit frantic about and these forums seem to hold a wealth of information, so I was hoping some of you kind folks could lend some advice . . .

My situation is a little over 4 months ago, I experienced a chemical burn from Apple Cider Vinegar on the glans of the penis. This has now turned into what appears to be a scar which consists of a small patch of possible scar tissue and below that a couple of very tiny red spots which may just be hyper-pigmentation.

I started treating this w/Manuka honey for a month, but that had no affect. I have since switched to a Essential Oil blend of RoseHip Seed Oil and 5% Helichrysum. I have been using that blend for a little over a month, but not sure I see any results yet. I realize that it may take up to several months to see results, but my main concern is that because the trauma is on the glans, which is extremely sensitive and a mucous membrane, can I expect to see positive results using Essential Oil treatments?

I realize that I may not be able to make the scar completely dissappear, but I am hopeful I can greatly diminish it. I consider this a new scar seeing it\'s only about 4 months old.

Any advice is GREATLY appreciated! Thanks so much in advance.

P33kabuu, I did see a very reputable Dermatologist and he said there was nothing he could do. But he was just considering conventional technics. I am not sure he considered the effects certain essential oils would have on the scars. I am hopefully optimistic that they will diminish their appearance.

Scars take a long time to mature and improve. The only real thing to worry about is if it is indented. Posting a pic would help.

Dr. Oates,

It is slightly indented, but not very deep. It depends on what angle you look at it from. There is a little square like patch that appears a bit more shiny than the surrounding area when stretched. You can see slight lines around the square area that look a bit below the level of the surrounding skin, but it\'s pretty shallow. There is also a small red strip of tissue below that little square that is slightly raised. That looks like hyper-pigmentation to me.

I can try to post pics, but not sure about that.

I came upon a post from the site where I purchased the helichrysum w/Rosehip oil solution where someone had a glycolic acid burn which they said literally ate into their skin on their face. They used the same solution and it really improved the scar, but she said it took several months to notice a difference. I have only been using the solution for 5 1/2 weeks. And this is on the glans, not the face, so I am trying to understand if I will get similar results seeing that area is different type of tissue and more sensitive.

I have been very diligent with the solution, applying it 3-4 times a day every day.

Thank you for taking the time to respond!
