A little update.
Last week I was very into having
PMMA this summer. I want the safest way so I was planning to go with Dr C and crew, even if it\'s 3x more expensive for me than with Dr N.
So, because it\'s a permanent procedure and I don\'t want to fool myself, I started reading and re reading the complications threads,
PMMA Removal, progress reports etc.
On saturday I emailed Wade, to have his point of vue about complications, here are the questions & answers (nothing new here but can be helpful for some...):
Q - Concerning the risks, I\'ve read granulomas can form even years after the interventions, my question is how often this kind of complication occurs and have you had cases when it needs to be surgically removed ?-I\'ve also read they are better treated if detected early, would a regular appointment with an
Urologist be a good way to detect them as soon as possible ?
A - Granulomas are due to improper technique, poor quality product, and experience. We have not had any patient have a medical need for
Removal. Irregularities, and bumps can occur, and are treated at a second treatment, either by breaking them up with the micro cannula, and then camouflage the area, or a cortisone (
Kenalog) injection. - One cortisone injection usually takes care of a bump that may occur. Patients can get them treated by our office at a second session, or at a doctor of their choice. Round one is typically the time that you will notice these irregularities, since the tissue in this specific area is very unstable. By round two, your skin has become very stable, and is much more capable of keeping the product in place.
Q - Are there others complications that I should be aware of ?
A - Irregularities are the main issue that we have to be very conscious of.
Q -What is the actual price for the first and subsequent interventions ?
A - The pricing structure using Metacril
PMMA is as follows: $2500 for the first treatment, $2000 for the second treatment, and $1500 for all additional sessions. Touch up sessions will be $1000 up to five cc's of
PMMA. LinneaSafe (Formerly NewPlastic)
PMMA is available for an additional $250 per procedure.
I remain concerned about the possible severe complications, even if I believe in the expertise of Dr C\'s team. From my understanding, the consensus here is that they can also be due to patient foreign body reaction (rare), even if the technique and product avoid it the best.
I also understood better what
Radiesse is (reading it here), and as it\'s similar, I agree it would be a good try prior to
PMMA. The problem is the same as other guys in Europe, very expensive to travel to the US for a temporary solution. I searched in France but nothing about
Radiesse in the penis so far, I\'ll keep searching and emailing some Drs maybe, while I\'m not very optimistic about it.
So, still into considerations phase, I\'ll keep you posted.
