TOPIC: Bad preputioplasty - need advice

Bad preputioplasty - need advice 5 years 7 months ago #1308256779

Hi board

I have always had a mild form of Phimosis. I Finally decided to do something about and had a preputioplasty this monday.

Unfortunately the result isn\'t very good, and after researching I have found out that there are several techniques for doing this procedure. I got a single dorsal incision, which apparently is the method creating the worst cosmetic result, a V-shaped Foreskin also called \"dog ears\". Newest literature recommends a superior technique called trident preputial plasty where the surgeon makes several incisions in order to get a uniform result.

Here is my problem: I want to reverse the procedure I got (single dorsal incision) and then do the procedure once more but with the newest technique.

Should I wait for the incision to fully heal, or is it best to reverse the procedure when the incision is still closing (it has only been two days since I had the procedure). I am going to speak with the doctor who did the procedure tomorrow, but wanted to hear if someone has any advice?

I really hate that I did this procedure, just thinking that the doctor knew what he was doing.

Long time no see Viduka!

Phimosis is a subject that could use more attention and I\'m hoping others can chime in.

I would definitely reach out to your doctor, and I would also contact doctors that employ that superior technique you mentioned.

Any photos? Doctor\'s name perhaps? Whatever you are comfortable revealing. Keep us posted!

Phimosis rarely needs surgery, unless it is caused by Balanitis Xerotica Obliterans. In most cases steroid creams(prescription strength) and stretching exercises sometimes with dilators solves over 90% of cases with Phimosis.
