TOPIC: Documenting my Cymetra procedure

Documenting my Cymetra procedure 8 years 6 months ago #1292400835

So, this board gave me a lot of good info before I made a decision. I noticed no one had any progress reports on Cymetra. That\'s the route I took so I thought I could give back by posting this for anyone who is thinking about it. I had the procedure done today. It was painless and the doctors and nurses did a really good job at making me feel comfortable (as comfortable as it could possibly be in that situation). I had 10cc which I was told by the nurse that they haven\'t done less than that. I also had the PRP shot. When it was over, I looked down and noticed that it was clumped together mostly I\'m the middle of the shafts and in my head, I panicked. \"What have I done?!\" The doctor told me to just massage it in, it will work itself around. When I left I wen straight across the street to a warrens and bought some wrapping. I wrapped it up to be firm at the tip and middle pushing it towards the base. I unwrapped it about an hour later to check it and it looked great for about a minute, then noticed gravity beginning to take effect. This gave me much hope. I believe that if I keep it wrapped up for a little while, it will begin to settle enough to manipulate. I\'m not sure if it\'s on purpose, but it is in the doctor\'s best interest if you have to come back for corrections so maybe that\'s why they don\'t wrap it up. This is just my first impression on the day of. I will update as I go and add pictures once I think it\'s safe to unwrap.

Very interesting post. Thanks for the contribution. I have recently been in touch with Dr. Gitts office about HA and Cymetra. As I understand with HA and Megafill, it can look funky for a while before it sets. Many HA\'s are said to take a couple of weeks before they fully set so I imagine Cymetra would be somewhat similar, I wouldn\'t panick. What Dr. did you go to? Did it run about $800 a CC? I\'ll be interested to hear how this works out for you.
Best of luck!!

I wold doubt that a doc would do something intentionally to cause a bad result just to get a repeat customer. But, then again there are docs out there like Elist with his implant.

I went to Dr. Gitt in Pheonix. They had a package deal, for 10cc\'s and the PRP shot. It cost a little over $8,000. Today is day 5 and I am very pleased with the results. I ended up spend the whole day 2 in a hotel paying really close attention to the redistribution of it. The wrapping helped with reducing the migration while walking or standing but it was also evident that it needs to be checked and rewrapped every hour or so for the first 48 hours. As of right now, there are no disproportions.

I\'m at about 2 weeks. Things have settled in nicely. There is slight disproportion near the tip but almost negligible. With only 10cc\'s, it\'s a bit more difficult to see that sort of thing. The Cymetra really likes to stay in the middle of the shaft, you have to really pay attention. Flaccid, you can tell a difference but Erect it\'s only slightly noticeable gains.
