There are a multiple older threads discussing ellanse, and one thread (Subtle77\'s) with positive reports from 2 members who have had it from Dr Oats., but that\'s about it. Not nearly as much documented data to go by as we have on HA, specifically voluma. For voluma, we have everything ranging from totally satisfied, parially satisfied, to not happy and having it dissolved (or partually dissolved like costa). I suspect in the future we\'ll have the same data on ellanse, but we\'re not there yet.I\'d like to ask the following question--if right now you were offered 20 ml of voluma or 20 ml of ellanse (3 or 4 year version) injected for free from a sed injector, in multiple sessions, which would you choose and why?I ask this because I\'m considering it now, and I\'ve also read a few posts by guys who had voluma and said that after it dissolves they were considering ellanse for next round. Cost is always a factor, but the reason I phrased the question like this is because everyone has different financial means, but we all care about asthetics, risks, adverse reactions, etc... so thats the main focus. I also deliberately specified the 3 or 4 year version vs. ellanse S. The latter may have made the choice easier due to less time to deal with should adverse effects occur, but I believe Dr. Oats is using the 3 year version now. Moorgate is recommending S now, and deferring the decision to choose a longer version until a later time ( moorgateandrology.co.uk/2018/07/26/ellan...take-hyaluonic-acid/ ). I also wanted to factor that out.

For personal reasons, I\'m trying to make this decision now, rather than wait until more ellanse data is available. I know others may be as well, so I wanted to see what people were thinking at this point in time. I also want to factor out pmma, and stick to temporary options (that have varying degrees of \"temporary\"). I just want to make sure there\'s not something I overlooked before pulling the trigger.

I'd go for Ellanse.
I'd prefer the 1-2 years version to see how my body reacts to that, so that if things go wrong it's 'only' 1-2 years.
But since you mentioned multiple session, I guess starting with a small session of the 3-4 years version could be conservative as well (like 5-8ml maybe?).

HA outcomes are too random, specially for uncut guys. 50/50 like it/hate&dissolve it.
And I don't want to deal with touch ups every 1-2 years.
Dr Oates reported Ellanse is firmer if I recall correctly.

Morganstern\'s patient consultant also had ellanse and said it was firmer. He had a hard time describing the actual texture, but it sounded like in some ways he liked the smoothness of voluma. At this point in time I\'m leaning towards ellanse. Only concern is if there is a significant adverse effect that it can\'t be dissolved. Been researching studies on this, so far only found three (58 patients, 40 patients, and 5 patients):https://www.healio.com/dermatology/aesthetic-cosmetic-surgery/news/online/%7Bbff129cc-db55-469e-851f-d41aa85b5976%7D/polycaprolactone-based-dermal-filler-shows-efficacy-in-forehead-augmentation

www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3615178/

onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/pdf/10.1111/jocd.12020

Also one study showing the adverse effect rate is low:https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5685142/

Heard some anecdotal evidence about some infrequent dissatisfaction with hardness. lumps, and an unsubstantiated reference that Dr. C stopped using for similar reasons, but nothing concrete. At the beginning of subtle77\'s thread @upsize raised an issue but there\'s a few things that don\'t make sense there.

HA would most likely will be squisy , i wouldn\'t recommend nor would i do it again, but its the safest procedure to do.

If you are considering Ellanse i highly recommend using Dr Oates in Australia , i know its far away for most of us but he has the most experience to my knowledge. We have Dr Greta in London but she seems very new to it.

Thanks for the input. I know you were one of the guys not happy with it for that reason. Travel to Australia won\'t work for me, because should there be any issues there is no way I\'d want to be that far away. Also, Morganstern\'s practice recommends two sessions for Ellanse--10 ml per session separated by 8-12 weeks for best results, due to the way the carrier and collegen stimulation are timed. That makes a lot of sense.

Ye\'h i recently saw someone put that link on about 12 weeks is about right to have second procedure , great bit of advice .

Are you in UK then? I know its pricey travelling but its such a risk and i would rather pay out 2k more for it. I\'m wondering if Dr Oates would do a discount if we got a certain amount of people to get it ? Also getting a flight at the cheapest time of the year could help .

I\'m in the US. As Morganstern\'s practice has a good reputation as urologists, and have been doing PE procedures for a long time, I don\'t consider using them a risk. And I posted the link, it was what they pointed out to me regarding their reasoning for doing the two sessions with that spacing.
