I want to minimize my travel expenses to save money for my second procedure if needed etc. I will be flying from the Midwest to San Diego. I\'m looking for information on cheaper hotels and motels near the airport or general area with easy access to shuttle . Any information of cost saving ideas would be appreciated. I have already found round trips flights around the 250 mark and that will work. I want stay up for up 4 nights arrive Monday leave Thursday to work on post care and any follow up appointments with Dr.C.

If you don\'t require 1st class accommodations, there is a Motel 8 very close to the airport.

If you really want to minimize costs, you could look into Airbnb near the clinic and just take an Uber to and from. I saw some for around $30-$40 a night. Motel 6 at the border on the US side is about $60 plus tax, and then you still need to shuttle into TJ. I ended up paying $75 a night at the Hotel Grand Tijuana--how much are you looking to spend?

I just booked through Expedia for a multi-day stay and got the rate, but according to Avanti you can also call and let them know you\'re a patient in order to get a discounted rate. If your range is $60-75, then at $75 a night, it might just be worth it to stay there and not have to pay for cabs and go through border checks in and out each day.

Get a jetblue credit card. If you spend 1000 in the first 2 months I believe, you will get 30,000 free points. That is enough for 3-4 round trips from your location. Get a Hyatt Gold membership (free) I think it is after 9 stays you get some free. I forget the breakdown. Don\'t skimp on bad accomodations. The Grand or the Hyatt is your best bet - I liked the Hyatt better in general.
