TOPIC: Scar revision VY

Scar revision VY 8 years 4 months ago #1292863711

I had a length and Girth procedure in 1995 while i was living in the U.K.

I had the VY procedure which has left me with a noticeable scar.

I have been in contact with Dr Gary Alter he said he can do a Revision and reversal.

But as i now as i live in Australia this is very expensive to me to travel to the United States for this procedure.

I am considering if a cosmetic/plastic surgeon could perform a procedure to close the scar. I wouldnt expect the surgeon to reverse the procedure just to minimise the scar.

The Girth procedure i had was alloderm implants which didnt make much difference so i went back for the FFT procedure which disappeared in time i only have a couple of small hardly noticable lumps so i am considering a HA procedure.

I look forward to your replies.

I had a hair transplant into my scar. In your case, I don\'t see the point of a V/Y reversal if you just want the scar hidden. I don\'t think a procedure to thin the scar would be better than a hair transplant, as you scar is completely flat. Basically if there was hair in the scar tissue you wouldn\'t be able to see it. If you have a scar Revision, there is a good chance the scar will come back and perhaps be worse.

Have you tried any scar concealing make-up etc? You could even consider micro pigmentation if your were prepared to keep your pubic area shaved. It\'s just having dots that look like shaved hairs tattooed into the hairless area. Scar tissue isn\'t the easiest area to tattoo into so a test area should be done first, but that would be such an easy way to hide the scar.

Who did your surgery in the UK.

Hoddle thanks for your reply and suggestions i will consider them.

The doctor was Dr Ravi Kant Agarwal.

I dont know if you remember hearing about his court case as it was a few of the tabloid newspapers and news websites although it was a long time ago.

Here is a link which explains in more detail.
