TOPIC: Longest PMMA duration to date +complications ?

I\'ve read up the threads in the patient support forum and general Phalloplasty discussion, but could not really get a sense of how long people have had PMMA in their penises and if they had any problems.

I\'m considering getting getting PMMA with Dr C in the future, but just want to know if there are any members who have had it for extended durations (like more than 3 years...if anybody has had it more than 5 years or longer, then that would be great). Like a lot of members, I just want to know of the complications. I know the basic problems like possible allergic reaction, auto-immune reactions, disfigurations, penis feeling like \"rubber\", but just wanted to see if anybody knew of any additional effects to their penises that happened many years after the PMMA injection.

Most members here update their progress after 1 or maybe 2 years after the fact, but I haven\'t really seen many that were longer than that so I would really appreciate the insight

You definitely need to read all of the patient progress reports if you have not already. Some people are happy with the results others are not. Since you can not put the toothpaste back in the tube, make this choice very carefully.

I believe smartman was the first on this board to have pmma >5yrs in the penis but he has not posted in quite some time.

Thanks Big Ben. Indeed, I have read most if not all of the recent patient progress report threads and understand the repercussions that each person has posted about. I guess at this point, it might be a bit too difficult to see what PMMA might do to the penis 10, 20 years down the road.

In a worst case scenario you can always have it surgically removed. Of course this is not fun or risk free but the guys that had to have it completely removed from the penis seem to make out better than the Elist implant patients, or the women who have the PMMA injected and removed from the face or butt.

Make sure you have time and money set aside if things do go wrong, as it will take some effort to find a surgeon who is high caliper, and willing to help.

\"20 years down the road\", assuming any of us will live that long! The larger sample size of PMMA clients that report to the forum have been mostly content with the outcome and or worry free 1-5 years post treatment. Mind you, most of us also elect to have multiple rounds of treatments which may slightly increase the risk for opportunistic infections or unforeseen complications. But at the present trek, I don\'t see any major complications arising up until the 10 year mark. Since no clinical study has determined the LONG TERM SAFTEY of PMMA in the penis, we remain the collective sample size in this experiment of improving our own Dick mass.

That\'s exactly what I\'m worried about. All of us are the true PE guinea pigs I guess. Maybe in 2065 doctors will be able to give anyone a 12 by 8 Inch penis lol. I wish the future was now
