Hoddle mentioned the HA fillers don\'t do well in the penis on this post back in december - so that\'s something to note. This doc has only been doing it for a year. $500 a syringe is pretty cheap for juvederm, which goes up to 1k in NYC for a syringe.

Also, it\'s interesting this doc is only injecting 5-10cc of Juvederm. It\'s still on the low end in terms of volume...then again, it\'s all HA - not much water that gets absorbed (except the lidocaine). With PMMA, I only got 2.7cc\'s of actual PMMA. The rest was carrier gel. I think juvederm is all HA. So, perhaps it is equivalent in a way.

And, of course it\'s temporary as far as I know. It is surprisingly somewhat permanent in the lower orbital area (under eyes), which shocked a lot of surgeons and dermatologists... it goes very fast where there is more movement usually...like the lips or nasolabial folds.

I like juvederm because of its predictability & bio-compatibility - there\'s no \"waiting to see what develops\" and I\'ve had some lumps and ridges that are probably more permanent from pmma than if juvederm caused them (though who knows, it\'s early still). I don\'t know what to think, really. I might call this guy to discuss r2...but hoddle - if you\'re reading this - what was the bad track record for HA under the circ area in particular? That\'s where I don\'t have any pmma growth either. In general, I just was always uncomfortable with how pmma relies on inflammation and immune response to \"work\" - and it\'s a foreign substance that will be with you forever. I guess, maybe it\'s moot now that it is in my body - I don\'t really know if 7cc of PMMA is going ot be any worse than 2.6cc of it - assuming I do 2 more rounds. (i\'m just talking about the PMMA not the carrier gel).

I have this itching and stinging which has been annoying me - it\'s not just plain itching anymore - I hope it stops soon. I know I\'m in the \"growth phase\" - but it feels like spinters or something.

there r different sizes of particles to correct different depths, for fines lines u would use a smaller particle as opposed to bigger particles u deposit it deeper in the skin for lift. so that is why allergan has so many different fillers. that being said, once the fda gives indication and approval for Phalloplasty products there will probably be a new HA specific to Phalloplasty. it\'s possible to make a product to hydrophilic, hydrofill is a product that had a high incidence of creating granulomas because the body recognizes it a foreign body kinda like PMMA. this is why voluma is doing so well, it\'s not that hydrophilic so injected in larger amounts it\'s still not going to create problems, the bodies reaction does not want to defend itself, voluma works well also because of it\'s g-prime(how well it stands up).

Oh yea I knew you didn\'t do phallopalsty. I should\'ve phrased that as injecting into the face. When you look at 1 cc, it\'s tiny...not even a teaspoon. However, after it is injected, it\'s a lot more (visually at least). So, I was trying to understand this. I don\'t know if this \"expansion\" is because it attracts water or what. Artefill (PMMA) and Radiesse are very different in terms of how they work, so they tend to give more volume than just the 1 cc that is injected. With HA, do you get more volume out of it after injection? If not, why are there so many versions like juvederm voluma and juvederm ultra and ultra plus, etc... I was under the impression that voluma pulled in the most water and gave the most volumizing. It\'s a lot more expensive than ultra plus, though, so it might not be worth it if that isn\'t the case.

sorry i want to make this clear, we do not do Phalloplasty at our office. my knowledge of HA\'s is in the face and hands. that being said, 1cc of an HA is not going to give u much volume, millimeters at most. for example the most we have ever put in someones lips is 4-5 cc\'s and that is very rare. the penis is a much lager appendage and can handle more but rather than doing 20cc\'s in one sitting i would think a session of 10cc\'s to 15cc would be a great starting point and then follow up 2-3 weeks later so u can add more or even it out depending on aesthetics and patients wishes.

If you inject 1 cc of Juvederm Voluma, how much volume can that ultimately create in the penis after the water-attracting properties are taken into account? 1cc is basically nothing, and it wouldn\'t be noticed by anyone - unless of course it draws in water.

Since PMMA is a stimulatory filler, I would guess that 5 cc of 30% can create 15 cc of soft collagenous tissue. I\'m basing this on how much I had injected and the volume of what I had removed & what is left.

if u do get an area of plumpness u don\'t like, u can flash it with an sciton machine and it can even it out a bit

Juvederm is 20mg/ml of HA, so about 2%. But basically you dond get 100% HA - it is a crystaline powder (sugar). But it is the ability of HA to hold 10,000x its weight in water that does the work.

The question of why it goes faster in some areas is, is it the movement or that there is more natural hyuluronidase (the natural enzyme that breaks it down ) in those locations.

Juvederm cannot cause permanent lumps.

From someone who has had a procedure at that office twice, once with Dr. Gitt and once with Dr. Philpott, I can say that they are a fantastic practice. Everyone I have dealt with there was extremely helpful and made me feel as comfortable as possible. Both doctors use canulla\'s.

Just a heads up. NorthValleyPlasticSurgery aka Dr Gitt who passed away which many of you know. I called today just to see what they were going to do for penile widening as they still have his photo up online. i was told that they have two female injectors, one using the cannula and the other using the needle. Nothing was mentioned about Dr Phillpot who is the doctor doing their surgery. The have not returned my phone call and do not respond to any appt online. It looks like Dr Gitt was the only person doing the penile widening injections with a cannula.

I had two separate injections of Voluma earlier this year. The first was 6ml into the shaft, and 2ml into the glans. The second time, about 6 weeks later I had another 8ml injected into the shaft. I was happy with the results, but it was expensive....and i\'m told that at most i might get 2 years of additional Girth. There are no lumps/bumps...
