TOPIC: Marble sized lump at base - not sure when to go back

Marble sized lump at base - not sure when to go back 10 years 7 months ago #1282765366

I\'m on week 2, and I have been slowly developing a larger & larger lump on the right side of the shaft, where it meets the body...and it\'s pretty big right now.

I talked to Wade about my injection site nodules and this lump - and basically he said you can wait for R2 or come in sooner, and it\'s kind of 50/50 whether this will resolve or not...it\'s hard to predict.

I don\'t think this lump is going anywhere but I could be wrong. The nodules change every day...so there might be some hope with those. I just dont want this lump to get more firm and more resistant as time goes by...some have said more problems emerge after the swelling (around 2-3 months) and others have said that lumps and irregularities actually get softer as time goes by. So, I am a little confused about what to do.

My main question is - should I just go back ASAP and get the injection site nodules taken out - and maybe they can break up the lump (no more PMMA - just fixing this time) and then do a PMMA round a few months later (as origianlly planned) when everything settles? This will be a bit expensive in travel costs, unfortunately...like another 1k with everything...plus time which I didn\'t really plan right now.

The other two options are to wait until 6 weeks and do a R2 (which I don\'t think i\'m ready for) - or originally I planned to wait until 3 months to do R2...but I kinda don\'t want to sit on these issues in case they worsen (and the injection sites feel like an std)

I wish someone could just do it here...and my Dermatologist would probably take out the entry point nodules, but not the lump...since that\'s under the skin.

Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thank you.

Hi there Restoration. Sorry to hear you are experiencing nodules/lumps. I don\'t believe it is that uncommon as I have experienced them and continue to experience - see my PMMA Log and you will see pics of me squeezing/pinching to workout the Nodule.

I have found with each round, there is some imperfection (small lumps, nodules, etc) that Dr. C is able to correct with subsequent rounds. what i never stopped to consider was planning for a final round that cleans up the imperfections without having to add more material. I wish I would have had these discussions with Dr. C and Wade early on...my exit strategy.

My experience in round 2 was a ridge behind my glans that did not feel natural, Dr. C easily poked it out on the 3rd round, and it appears to be gone at this point. Can you press out the lump?

If it is not painful and not causing functional issues, and is more of a psychological \'problem\', if it were me, I would probably wait it out to see how the rest settles out.

Good luck and hope your journey has a very happy ending - keep us posted

Restoration,

Sorry to hear that. I have a lot of pain in the area of my susps ligament. It appears swollen but I don\'t consider it a lump. It feels like a lump but i attributed that to swelling or contusion. I believe that is the area(nerve block / susps ligament) which he injects the stuff to make you numb. I was wondering if the PMMA attached to the ligament area and would cause a problem. I am trying to stay positive about it and hope you do. I had pain on the ligament which is beginning to subside. At first the pain was bad and thought I would lose length. It was painful to pull downward on my penis when stretching it. It has been getting better each day as far as pain. All I am doing for it is leaving it alone and hoping for the best. Good luck and keep us informed.

Arc: this is exactly where my lump is I talk about on my last 2 posts, and what you describe is exactly what I felt also. For me it was a seroma, both round 1 and 3, this 3rd round drained through the injection sites, first one took 3-5 weeks to get reabsorbed.
Rest: I think week 2 is too early to be collagen and most likely fluid build up. Give it a few months or more, because it sounds like what is happening to me right now. I wrote 2 posts on this on my thread, and its in the same spot you describe. When I spoke to Dr C he had spoken to another Dr and they said that when the product is injected near the base/body it can develop a seroma, which will either reabsorb or drain if it finds a hole, and they told me it was nothing to be concerned about unless it was an infection which you can tell if the leakage is fowl in smell. They can take a long time to diminish and feel very very hard. The only reason I knew it was a seroma is because it actually started leaking out the injection sites, and I could actually push it though to the hole and the huge Nodule right on the susp lig went away. Vs round 1 I thought it was collagen but it went away after 1 month or more so now looking back I think it was a seroma also bc it felt the same and in the same exact spot. That one didn\'t leak, but it also wasn\'t as big. Because you are only 2 weeks out I would say its probably fluid build up. The injection site nodules, from my experience, will go away on their own at about month 2-3. I know the Dr says is ok to go back after week 6, but a lot can change up till 6 months or more. Its a good idea to be patient with this process and don\'t get too emotional over it. Specially the first month or so as you heal. Some people heal really quick, and others take a lot longer. Hope this helps, all just my opinion from my experiences.

I agree with BDMike, patience is huge at this time. It\'s easy to get caught up with the \"what-ifs\" but those who have acted out of fear, emotion, etc, have often times regretted it more than their initial problem (i.e. nodules). Your best bet is to allow time to pass to see where things are. Eventually, when enough time has passed you can address all your issues/goals on your next round. If were dealing with an infection, or something extreme, than having it addressed immediately would be obvious. But as of now, it seems to be a problem common amongst those who have had issues with PMMA: Nodule formation / possible fluid build up. I think BDMike\'s advice is best here.

Hey everyone - thanks for your replies. The most I\'d do would be to ask them just to use the needle procedure to take out the nodules so I don\'t have people thinking I have genital warts...and perhaps they could use the cannula for the big lump. I would hold off on any PMMA. I don\'t even mind PMMA irregularities and the lump - but being single, the little nodules might be a problem sexually. It\'s hard to say. I didn\'t know if the lump would worsen or not (seems like it might improve). I\'ll just wait for now. Plane fares are not cheap again until 2 more weeks - but then that puts me just 2 weeks away from the 6 week mark anyway.

It\'s not too close to the ligament...it\'s just above that stuff fortunately - though it is close. I can\'t press it out - it moves around - but it\'s like pushing a jelly bean in pudding or something...weird analogy but that\'s the best I can do.

I can\'t really squeeze much now because it\'s solid - and I don\'t want those to open again and start oozing or get exposed to bacteria and stuff like that.

I added a photo of the lump. BDmike thinks it\'s just a seroma bc collagen cant form this fast. I don\'t know - maybe it just is fluid - it feels somewhat firm though.

I just hope it can be broken down & isn\'t permanent - bc I can\'t camouflage it with more PMMA...no way I\'d go that big. It\'s stretched in the pic... but the lump is too big for me for the full shaft.
