Personally I think we do know what the long term effects could be. What we don\'t know are the frequency of these complications over the long term, especially in a dynamic organ. I don\'t see the emergence of an unexpected type of complication over the long term, as I think we\'d know of it by now.
PMMA has been used in other applications for a long time (decades), so I can\'t see we\'d suddenly start seeing something knew.
We can only learn so much from the past, as
PMMA products have changed over time, different concentrations have been used and of course not all areas of the body tolerate it so well. We (this forum) are the pioneers of this procedure, in the English speaking world at least, and that is why it\'s important we document as much as possible in progress threads etc.
You aren\'t going to find the evidence that this procedure is sufficiently safe by looking into the past, as the information just isn\'t there. It\'s the present (here at
PhalloBoards) where the questions will eventually be answered. There has never been a PE procedure so independently documented as what we\'ve seen with
PMMA at
PhalloBoards over the last 3 years.
