TOPIC: Linnea Safe Patients

Linnea Safe Patients 10 years 11 months ago #1280975298

I am about a month away from my 1st procedure with Dr. C and have done endless amounts of reading on the forum and outside the forum on the differences in PMMA products. From any evidence on here Linnea Safe (formerly New Plastic) is 3rd best PMMA product in studies with supposedly <2% small particles and I have for months now decided to opt for LS for the extra $250 over Metacril.

All the studies show the differences from New Plastic to Linnea Safe have improved significantly. However, I contacted Wade to ask about the changes in the product from New Plastic to Linnea Safe and this is what I got back:

\"Linneasafe, formerly Newplastic, did not make any formulary changes to the product. The reason for the name change, was due to an internal restructuring of the ownership of the lab. Since our distributor no longer imports Linneasafe to Mexico, we will only be offering Metacril PMMA for all of our future procedures. See you soon!\"

I pre-ordered my batch of Linnea Safe so there is some there for me on hold but I am confused now. Is it actually a better product? Or is it now as good as Metacril even?

Has anyone on here opted for LS over Metacril? I think I have read every progress report since Dr. C has offered LS and can\'t find anyone who openly states they have.

If anyone knows or can point me in the right direction it would be most appreciated. I just want to get the best product to reduce my chances at complications.

Cheers.

I think HunkChunk had both and reported less minor complications with linnea safe. I don\'t know if it\'s indeed related to the product quality, but he wrote he thinks so.

Prof Lemperle (inventor of PMMA) said that recent version of both products are of good quality.
