Thank you for your interest in Fairview Plastic Surgery and Skin Care Centre. Penile lengthening and thickening are commonly requested procedures at our center. Dr. Bowman is a Royal College Board certified plastic surgeon who has specialized training and experience in these procedures. DESCRIPTION: Fat injections are used to enlarge your penis circumference or width. It is done with day care surgery, under general anaesthesia. The fat injected is usually taken from your abdomen, through a tiny groin incision and is then injected through one or more tiny incisions under the foreskin (if present), just below the head. The stitches are dissolvable, and the incisions heal with almost no scar. Penile lengthening surgery increases the non-erect length of your penis and, to a lesser extent, the erect length. The amount of lengthening averages 4 cm (1.5 inches) but varies from person to person. It\'s not possible to know ahead of time how much actual length you will gain after the surgery. The surgery is done under general anaesthetic. Release of the internal part of your penis is done by dividing a ligament holding it in place. In addition, a muscle technique is used to ensure the long-term effectiveness of the surgery. If you are requesting both procedures, the lengthening surgery is performed first, and at approximately 3 months later, the girth enhancement can be done. COST: The typical cost of penile widening is approximately $5,300.00 for the first surgery, and $4,900.00 if subsequent surgeries are desired. The typical cost of penile lengthening is approximately $6,900. A consultation appointment with Dr. Bowman is $100.00 plus taxes which is credited towards your surgical fee if you decide to proceed with surgery within 6 months. CONSULTATION: During this first appointment, Dr. Bowman will take a medical history, discuss your goals, do an examination, review the risks and potential complications of the procedure in detail with you and make recommendations for your individual situation. In addition, he will review the pre and post-operative care with you at this consultation visit as well. You will benefit from asking all your questions and browsing through our photographs. The consultation usually takes 45 minutes to an hour after which we will provide you with a detailed price quote. RECOVERY: You will require 2 to 3 days off of work at minimum. Other restrictions include no sexual activity for 3 weeks and no sports activity for 6 weeks. You would need to return to the office for removal of the abdominal stitches at 2 weeks, and then Dr. Bowman usually likes to see you in follow up at 1 and 3 months after your penile procedure(s). For penile lengthening surgery you will be required to wear weights on your penis for 3 months following surgery and this will be reviewed in detail at your consultation. For this procedure we have a process to follow for out of town patients: 1.You would need to complete all necessary history forms (attached) and return by fax at 604-734-1404 or by email. 2.Next you would need to set up a Skype consultation with our office. During this consultation you and Dr. Bowman would speak face-to-face over the internet. So you would need to ensure that you have a microphone and video camera. You will need to do this in a private setting as Dr. Bowman may ask you to take measurements during the consultation 3.Once the consultation is finished you will be emailed a quote and information on dates available for surgery. If you are interested in proceeding from that point you will need to do the following: a.Place a $500 non-refundable, non-transferrable deposit to secure your day. The balance of surgery is always due 3 weeks prior to the date of surgery.b.You will have to see your family physician to have a physical examination done and the results would need to be forwarded to our office along with your consent forms that will be sent to you.c.You will need to arrange to be in Vancouver at least one day prior to come into our office to meet Dr. Bowman in person for a pre-operative consultation.d.After your surgery you will need to ensure that you have a responsible adult to care for you for the first 24 hours and pick you up from the facility. If you do not have an escort to stay with you, we can provide the name of a nurse that provides in-home care at her house. You would arrange this directly with her in regards to availability and fees.
