TOPIC: So, Metacril or Linnea Safe?

So, Metacril or Linnea Safe? 12 years 3 months ago #1274845891

I was informed by the good doctor\'s office (well Wade actually) that the default filler is currently Metacril, but that I could have Linnea Safe for an additional $250.

I\'m at a crossroads here. Has anyone had the Linnea Safe yet? I am weary of receiving 20% mixed metacril, but I would prefer 20% over 10%. Maybe Linnea Safe comes in 20%. That would at least seal the deal.

If Linnea Safe doesn\'t come in 20%, why would you pay the extra $250? I haven\'t seen any data yet that would definitively deem one product as superior to the other.

Though if it\'s true that Linnea Safe is essentially the rebranding of \"New Plastic,\" it would be worth noting that \"New Plastic\" was their default filler for many years before it was temporarily discontinued. This is of course assuming Linnea & New Plastic are one and the same. If they aren\'t one and the same, then you are talking about a product with no history of application, food for thought.

I checked out Linnea Safe\'s company site and it appears they do 10% & 30%, no 20%. Unless they made a special batch for whatever reason, looks like the syringe concentrations will be the same as metacril.

p.s. Please use the search function, this topic has been wrestled with at length before.

I couldn\'t find a post mentioning the additional charge by Dr. c to use Linnea Safe. I thought it might warrant the creation of a new thead.

Prices are subject to change as well, and I\'ve come to learn price-update threads become obsolete real fast. Besides, the topic of this thread was still clearly Linnea Safe vs Metacril (in other words, I\'d just recommend updating an already existing Linnea vs Metacril type thread with the price update as opposed to starting a whole new thread to avoid saturating the forums). Just a heads up, but I digress.

If you don\'t mind me asking, what is it about the situation that leaves you at a crossroads?

Like many here, I for some reason have come to the belief that Linnea Safe must be superior to Metacril. I know this claim is completely unsubstantiated, but becase New Plastic was Dr C\'s go to filler before it was discontinued, I\'ve fallen into the trap of believing the rhetoric some members who have no medical or chemical background have asserted about Linnea Safe\'s purported superiority.

The other thing that leaves me weary is the in-house mixing protocol used by Dr C to concoct a 20% solution. This to me seems kind of unprofessional and leaves me slightly weary. Sadly, not weary enough to not go forth.

Hi friends!
Well, I do not know what is the question you, but I can guarantee that 100% Safe Linnea is the best product on the market today. It is the only technology that has the UMS (Uniform Miocrosphere Smooth Surface), which ensures an exact diameter of 40 microns particle. Its purity is unmatched. Studies show that the only PMMA that has these characteristics is the Linnea Safe.
Hugs!

Would you like to cite those studies? You make guarantees on a product that is relatively new? Would you also like to disclose your position at the company/lab that produces this product? If you are willing to state with honesty your affiliation with the brand, I can assign you a Commercial Account tag (which may come at a small cost) that will let our readers know that your information is inherently biased, but at least you would be able to share your information transparently. Thanks.

The last thing Linnea Safe wants is bad rep. Do us a favor and come clean with your intentions and we\'ll listen with open ears.
