TOPIC: FFT or PMMA

FFT or PMMA 13 years 1 month ago #1270424637

Hi everyone, I\'ve been following these discussions for a while and am very grateful for all the useful information on this and the old forum.

I know this topic has been flogged to death but I\'ve decided that within the next week I\'m going to choose either FFT with Viel in London or PMMA in Mexico.

I wanted to ask those with more experience of all this than me whether you think that choosing FFT, given the superb results people have had with PMMA, would be an odd choice.

My thinking is that with PMMA, the end result will be a superior product, but with FFT there are no \"unknown unknowns\". So the only potential downside of FFT, if carried out by someone competent like Viel, is that I may need regular top ups to maintain the aesthetics.

Presumably those who have had PMMA do not regard it as experimental, and the results to date suggest it is the magic bullet of Girth enhancement, so am I being unduly overcautious such that I should just go with PMMA? Any thoughts welcome.

A bit about me - just turned 30, measurements are 6.4 long and 4.9 Girth. Don\'t care about length\' but want to get to a Girth of 6 inches.

Many thanks

From what I understand (only a little I admit), doesn\'t FFT almost always re-absorb?

There is NO \"Holy Grail\" for increasing one\'s penile Girth. There are many long term unknowns regarding penile bioplasty and despite preliminary good results by those here, it is still not without risk. While I do not promote any method of Phalloplasty, I personally feel you would be a good candidate considering you are older and seem to have realistic expectations. Perhaps starting with 10% or lower concentration while keeping aesthetics in mind would be an appropriate protocol for you. You always have the option of just leaving well enough alone. Being 38 and married with three children myself, I am scheduled for Round 1 on October 27th. Welcome to PB\'s friend.

FFT doesn\'t ALWAYS reabsorb. Some men have held on to much of the transferred fat for decades. It often reabsorbs unevenly and as you pointed out; many times completely. It likely depends greatly on physiological and morphological factors. Either way, I\'m not too keen on advocating such a hit or miss methodology.

I understand Dr. Giunta combines FFT with PRFM and that is helping the FFT to stay, no loss?

Dr. Stephen Xavier Giunta is probably one of the best FFT Phalloplasty surgeons in the US. Despite his refined techniques, many are dissatisfied and the results are lackluster at best. Even by administering Platelet Rich Plasma and Platelet Rich Fibrin Matrix growth factors, the end result is the same. It is still FFT and still wrought with issues of permanence and aesthetics. I know many of his patients and have remained in contact with some for years. Few are REALLY happy but the majority are regretful or even spiteful/vindictive. Not worth it IMHO. It is Dr. Giunta\'s hope that naive and uneducated patients choose him for FFT based on his marketing ploys (ie: PRP and PRFM). There is a reason that most urologists and Phalloplasty surgeons don\'t do FFT. JustABitMore had an excellent FFT result from Dr. Viel of London although he required constant refills and now strongly recommends PMMA over FFT. Food for thought.

Iv\'e had FFT with Dr Caminer from Sydney and am happy so far. I had a top up 6 months after the orignal surgery. I like the extra Girth and it gives me alot more confidence. I found the fat I had at 3 months was the same as 6 months but the dr wanted me to wait untill the 6 month mark for the top up.

Mine wasn\'t your typical FFT procedure, Dr Caminer fixed up a botched job Dr Djinovic (serbian team)did on me which left me with bad scars and no length increase as promised.

Do you think its the fact urologists are against FFT as they aren\'t trained on treating fat and injections? Plastic surgeons like Viel , Guinita and Caminer use Fat on many different body parts so have greater experience.

I can\'t comment on PMMA as I haven\'t looked right through the threads but a quick look shows guys seem happy.

Possibly in the future PMMA may be suitable for me if things don\'t stay even and there are long term success stories but at the time I chose to go with FFT PMMA was only just beeing talked about and Mexico is quiet a hike for me after Serbia I couldn\'t take the risk and didn\'t want to wait any longer.
