TOPIC: Surgery Problems, Complications?

Surgery Problems, Complications? 13 years 2 months ago #1270148861

Weird, this forums software seems buggy sometimes. I tried to post this a moment ago, but could not enter any text.

Anyway, let me start by saying, this post is NOT a negative one. I find ALL forms of augmentation surgical or otherwise, fascinating and they all have their \'merits\' based on the man and what he is willing to endure...or pay for. I do feel though that it is fair to question potential complications of surgical augmentation...as there do not seem to be many posts concerning them? Surely, someone has seen complications from a surgical augmentation or has a story to share. Those of us who thoroughly investigate the surgical option come to realize we are in fact taking a risk. Also realizing this is not yet considered a 100% legit, viable, long term solution. It is in fact still considered (to my latest knowledge at least) \"experimental\" and \"elective\". Is it not?

Again, I\'m not trying to \"poo, poo\" on anyone\'s desires here. I\'m just trying see for my own sake and the sake of others what potential complications can come from surgical enhancement. It\'s been quite a while...a few years since I have investigated much about the subject myself.

We are open to discussing both sides of the subject I assume? I have seen forums that were obviously only promoting the positives of surgical augmentation...lead one to believe they were simply for promoting surgery for the benefit of the surgeons.

Nothing to argue here... It\'s cosmetic surgery just like a breast enhancement its something people CHOOSE to do for a variety of reasons.

@stillwantmore

S.O., myself and other Moderators are well aware of the bugs experienced by members such as yourself. My apologies. The web host is responsible for the glitches and we are relying on them to correct them in a timely manner. I encourage all members to donate; even if it\'s nothing more than a few bucks. The information contained within this forum is invaluable. S.O. has gone to great lengths to ensure a steady flow of pertinent information remains available to the public.

All forms of Phalloplasty whether surgical or non surgical present a risk of minor or possibly severe complications. There are negative reports throughout the forum discussing the method(s) used and the poor outcome that ensued. Some have experienced horrid results from FFT, the Elist Implant, Dermal Fat Grafts, Alloderm/Belladerm grafts and PLGA Scaffold augmentation procedures. Even PMMA has no long term studies verifying it as a \"safe\" procedure though I am unaware of a single serious complication experienced by our members to date. Jelqing, Clamping, Hanging, pumping, uli\'s, DLD blasters, etc all pose as great a risk as surgical procedures to cause permanent irreparable damage to the penis. Phalloplasty is indeed an elective procedure.

Of course we are open to discussing both sides! We are here to share our knowledge and experiences and to learn from one another. I take augmentation of the penis very seriously. You only have one and cannot replace it! There is NO completely safe way to enlarge one\'s penis. Unless one is adamant about enlarging, I suggest you leave it alone! That said, I can see that you still want more. So do I my friend. So do I.

I think because this is a new forum, following on from several now defunct surgical forums, we are perhaps it little wiser than we were 10 years ago and now very few of us opt for surgcial enlargement. On the old forums, all we did was discuss surgical enlargement and the complication rate was astonishing. But I\'d say 80% of the guys opting for augmentation on this board go down the non surgical, PMMA route. At least half of the problems we used to see were with the surgical process itself, so PMMA straightaway avoids that pitfall. Other problems we used to see regularly were reabsorbtion of the materials used in surgery and again PMMA means we avoid this. Another big problem was contraction due to the grafts, which again we avoid with PMMA. So this explains why there are so few posts regarding the complications of surgery. The simple answer is very few people on this forum have surgery. We\'ve discussed at length potential complications with the PMMA option, but as of yet, we haven\'t actually encountered any serious complications. We are aware that given along enough time line and with enough guys having it done, we will almost certainly run into problems, but at the moment, all we can do is discuss theoretical complications.

I highly encourage members who have had past issues with surgery (i.e. complications) to share their story in this thread.
