TOPIC: Complications following PLLA/HA filler

In March 2025, I took the plunge and decided to have filler done. It was at a certain London clinic offering a “Hybrid” filler containing PLLA which I believe other users have had encounters with. I opted for 10ml and following the procedure was told I was given 12ml as he felt he could get a better result or words to that effect at no extra cost.

At the time, the results were genuinely fantastic and a huge confidence boost. Exactly what I had been looking for and positively life changing. However, 3-4 months later the results quickly faded away and I was back to baseline. Having read about a 2 stage protocol, I went back and opted for another 10ml. Again, following the procedure i was told “I’ve gone a bit overboard and I’ve given you 20ml”. A bit of a red flag but the results looked great, felt natural, had integrated well and were functional.

Much to my disappointment, again 3-4 months later, the results completely disappeared quite rapidly and I was left feeling permanently retracted with excess, baggy skin. At this point, I felt completely different from my baseline and struggled with any sort of sensation due to the stretched skin and erections almost impossible to achieve. To make things more difficult, I had to recently started a relationship and received lots of compliments. Out of sheer embarrassment at the situation, I had to back away from the relationship and wasn’t able to offer too much of an explanation other than I was going through something personal.

Being naive and looking for a quick fix, I went to a more reputable London clinic and had 9.6ml of Teosyal Ultra Deep. Aside from not having a great experience during the procedure, the results were odd and had gathered at the tip and looked like what i can only describe as an upside down mushroom. Much thicker at the tip than at the base. The results felt soft and did not seem to integrate as I had been used to.

Regrettably, I returned to my original practitioner a month later and explained the issues I was having. He insisted that it was because I had had HA which was never going to be firm enough and I had been convinced that he could “work his magic” and that more “Hybrid” PLLA was the answer. Sadly, after another 17ml (or so I’m told) this wasn’t the answer and I was left with a what felt like a completely separate, non integrated layer of mush. I remained in contact with “Dr. S” and explained over the next few weeks that the firmness of an Erection just wasn’t transmitting through and it was too soft for penetration. I was assured it would “firm up” over time. It never did. I even returned and he did a small spot dissolve on an area he agreed was particularly soft, but it didn’t make a difference.

Seeking further advice and desperate for a solution, I attended another clinic the following month and sadly, was ill advised again and convinced that a top up of 10ml HA would firm things up. Following this, I had a huge, rock hard swelling that meant massaging was impossible. Even once swelling had settled, I could only describe it as like having a water balloon strapped on top of my penis with a michelin man/donut effect.

Since, I have found a professional Urologist who I have had 2 sessions of hylaise with in an effort to reduce the amount of material. Although necessary, I don’t feel 2nd session was as effective and the material left behind is likely more permanent fibrosis/nodules/granulomas.

My current situation:
My day to day general functionality seems completely altered and there are a number of things contributing to this.
Most obviously, I have 3 main areas of hard, lumpy, likely fibrotic nodules/granulomas. Some of which move slightly under the skin and i am able to pinch the skin but close to the base just under my last injection, the skin is very hard and i am unable to pinch it. One of the lumps has formed and migrated very close to if not in the Foreskin. There is a deep firm ridge across my penis about half way down the shaft.
All of which meaning skin glide is restricted.
Hard to describe but I feel almost completely tethered to a retracted state and day to day spontaneous arousal no longer happens.
I always used to be very sensitive in the glands/Frenulum area and prior to filler, the sensation of these area being stretched during intimacy was obviously very pleasurable. Most worryingly, I now seem to have completely lost all sensitivity in that area and I’m almost completely numb. The skin in those areas now seems somewhat permanently overstretched. The feeling of being able to “pump” blood that would get trapped and expand through kegal movement is no longer effective. I feel restricted in that sense as though I have an elastic band around my penis. Having read a fair few forums, I suspect some of my injections may have been too superficial.

I am not completely dis functional but clearly there are some mechanical issues restricting normal function. I believe loss of sensitivity and an unfamiliar contour playing a huge part.

I have briefly discussed the option of surgery with a Urologist and whilst I appreciate total honesty and professionalism, “you’ll need a skin graft and it may never look the same again” is most definitely scary.

I’d be grateful to hear from anyone with any advice or dealings with a similar situation as I am a little lost.

As crazy as it may sounds, I started my journey for a reason and I would like to return to a stage where filler was a viable option as some point in the future.

You’ve had a lot of HA. It’s very unlikely the hyaluronidase will dissolve it unless you’ve had a LOT of hyaluronidase . I had one small lump that took two entire vials of hyaluronidase to dissolve. I’m curious how much have you had each visit? Also are you cut or uncut? If you’re uncut I suspect that’s why you’re experiencing such loose skin. I had almost 70 ccs of HA and had it dissolved and other than one tiny spot my skin is fine. Happy to help answer questions. You can also take a look at my threads to see my journey.

Both visits I was given the maximum dose the Dr was willing to administer which I believe to be a full vial each session. I am uncut. I have a consultation booked with a plastic surgeon next month. Will update
