So this is interesting, curious to hear from yall
@Rejuvall
on the viability of this as opinions seem mixed. This isn't to pit one doctor/clinic against another as wrong vs right, mind you, I know everyone has different risk tolerance, techniques they're comfortable with, areas of expertise, etc, BUT...all that disclaimer given...
There has been mention elsewhere that there is worry that with the underside of the shaft, the filler may constrict the urethra and depending on how much collagen you get, cause a blockage. There are no recorded incidences of this that we've been able to find, BUT, this is also not an area of medicine where all that much research is done compared to others (even other cosmetic procedures).
Why are yall not particularly worried about this and/or is there something different you are doing that makes the risk less noteworthy? Or is the policy of not doing it valid as a general rule with exceptions on a case by case basis? I know I've seen multiple experienced injectors say no-go for the underside, while yall and Dr Rupeka (and maybe one or two others) are conmfortable doing so. Sounds complicated and nuanced, and yall have a crapton of experience, so I'd be curious to be a fly on the wall for the conversation between yall and another doctor on this, i.e. "we actually avoid problems because _____" or "this isn't a risk in this area because _____", that sort of thing.
Quite curious especially given Dr Carney's pedigree/specialization, obviously to the degree yall are able to avoid sharing secret sauce (and obvs not to pit doctor against doctor)
